Too much about the plot just didn't add up, the writing was bad, some of the scenes were cringey and awkward,

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Low budget movie with lots of nudity (not really sexual situations, unless "wrestling" counts in your book as one) and a very easy story to follow. I know some may say that is being nice and I wouldn't even critisize the acting, this is what it is.There is some nice effects (for the toon "monster"). Even without the commentary it was obvious the goal was to appeal to a male audience. You can either take this with a grain of salt and just run with it and have fun (there is an "aware" PSA about nudity in the DVD exras too) or be mad about it. There are worse examples of movies exploiting the actors/actresses. This one was made with good intentions overall. Far away from perfect, still a decent time waster

This movie's title, "Evil Toons", is a misnomer. There is only one "toon" in this movie, so the word should be written in the singular. Furthermore, this animated creature only appears for about a scene and a half - in the beginning, when summoned by some mysterious ancient book, and at the end, when it is vanquished, promising to return in "the sequel", though I don't think they made one.Only the first scene really features any human-cartoon interaction, and this ain't "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" The animation is so poor that I assume the movie's micro budget couldn't really afford to do it, even when it's this shoddy, for more than a few minutes of screen time.I think the four starlets were supposed to be college girls because, well, aren't they always? One of them looks to be in her early forties, and when the token slut invites her jock boyfriend in, he doesn't look any younger, with his thinning hair and beer gut.Of the four, only two are attractive, but of course they all show their breasts. The slut one is among the attractive half of the cast, at least until she takes her top off and we see some weird looking nipple location. Picture a bug-eyed boy with a fly on the end of his nose. I assume these are fake, if not because of their (not overly generous) size, certainly because of the nipples. Mother nature doesn't make them that close together, right? The other attractive one, and the only one who generates any sympathy from the audience, is played by the beautiful Monique Gabrielle, who looks much younger than the other three and only has one topless scene. The other two women have that bizarre '80s style hair that looks like animal fur, like they were dressed in Chewbacca costumes for their last movie and forgot to take the headpiece off. They look much older, if I haven't made that point strongly enough yet, and neither are much to look at, besides.Aside from Gabrielle, the movie does have something else going for it: Dick Miller. Miller is good in anything. David Carradine also shows up, looking suitably creepy, but not doing much else. This movie really has nothing else that might make it worth watching. For a movie supposedly about "evil toons" there is only one toon who is badly animated and barely glimpsed, most of the women are old and ugly, and the "story" is just cliché without any life at all. This is for Monique Gabrielle and Dick Miller die-hards only.

Four attractive college students -- repressed and bespectacled bookish nerd Megan (an appealing performance by the gorgeous Monique Gabrielle), brassy Roxanne (delightfully played with naughty aplomb by delectable brunette Madison Stone), bossy Terry (lovely Suzanne Agar), and perky Jan (fetching Barbara Dare) -- are hired by the crusty Burt (the always great Dick Miller in fine form) to clean up an old dilapidated house. Roxanne gets possessed by an evil demonic cartoon spirit and terrorizes the other gals. Writer/director Fred Olen Ray doesn't take any of this blithely inane foolishness seriously for a minute: the good-natured dippy tone remains firmly tongue-in-cheek from start to finish, there are loads of cheesy one-liners and self-consciously campy references to other horror films (Miller even watches a clip of himself in "A Bucket of Blood" on television!), the cartoon beast resembles a lecherous version of the Tasmanian Devil, and, naturally, we've got a generous surplus of tasty female nudity (Madison performs a sizzling hot striptease, Monique bares her exquisitely bountiful breasts in front of a mirror, plus both Barbara and Suzanne show their stuff as well). Moreover, a top-rate cast of B-flick regulars have a ball with the goofy material: David Carradine as the sinister Gideon Fisk lurks around like Angus Scrimm's creepy long lost brother, Arte Johnson hams it up as seedy and bothersome neighbor Mr. Hinchlow, and the ever-luscious Michelle Bauer has a sexy bit as Burt's hot to trot wife. Gary Graver's cinematography makes nifty occasional use of tilted camera angles and gives this movie a pretty good look considering the low budget. Chuck Cirino provides a spirited cornball score. An absolute riot.

There are so many things wrong with this movie, I'm not really sure where to start. There is little animation, the plot is a not so subtle rip off (the book is a very cheap replica of the Necronomicaon used in the Evil Dead movies), the acting is pure garbage and the ending is beyond stupid. What the hell is the point of this movie? Sure, there's a good bit of nudity, but it just comes across as boring and tired. The girls are pretty, but their assets are wasted in this piece of trash. The effects are also pretty laughable.I love B movies, don't get me wrong. But there's usually some sort of redeeming quality. This thing didn't even make me laugh.Don't waste your time.
