The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

This movie reminded me of a lower budget version of the Nicole Kidman film 'The Others'. The performances are good,(sometimes very good) and the spirit of Bram Stoker's tale is well created. The sound mix is excellent and though this is a very different movie from the wonderful Brendan Fraser / The Rock Egyptian tales, set your expectations accordingly and I feel you will not be disappointed. There is a difference between the pace of a stageplay and a twenty-first century movie, and whilst 'Bram Stoker's Legend of The Mummy' could not be described as 'brisk' or 'energetic', it is a well told story worthy of the £1 I got it for at Poundland!

I bought this film cheap and boy am I glad I did. I don't think I'm including any spoilers by telling you it's the story of a mummy who wants to come back to life and spends the best part of 90 minutes trying to do so. The film is full of people you kind of know from other things, and I spent a much more lucrative time looking them up on Google than I did watching their performances. There's really not too much to say about the film - it's supposed to be based on Bram Stoker's novel, but there's no coherent story here. All the characters seem to be in different stories, and I don't know why it has an 18 certificate (except for a slightly explicit sex scene at the end). The horror is incredibly underplayed and every time you think the film is leading up to something, it shies away at the end. A dull horror film - can there be any worse? It's the kind of film you and a few buddies might enjoy whilst splitting a pizza and a few bevvies, but it's not even up there with the really good bad films. Lou Gossett Jr chews the scenery a bit, but even he seems to know he's in a prize thanksgiving turkey. A case of take the mummy and run methinks.

The acting in this film is so hilariously atrocious and the mummy so cheesy that you just might have to rent this the next time you have one of those 'bad movie nights' with your friends. Last but not least, let's not forget the Oscar-worthy acting of Al Borland of "Home Improvement" fame. Who would have thought his film career would never take off? (shocking)! With no actual scares, this film becomes a campfest from the very first minutes. This is a script even Paulie SHore would have thrown out. If you like watching bad movies for pure fun, I also recommend 'R.O.T.O.R.', which is quite possibly the worst film ever made. All in all, this is one great waste of time.

Well I have to admit I was not keen on seeing this movie, but I actually really enjoyed it all the way through. i thought it had everything it should have, good effects, suspense and was realistic looking. Al from Home Improvement (Richard Karn) was very cool in the film and gave it some good comic edge.I was however utterly disappointed with the ending, it just kind of got to the end and really killed the movie. I could not believe they left the end like that, so bad! Maybe the budget run out so they forgot about an end, I don't know. But the film was great for 90 mins then 2 mins of utter disappointment. So watch it - but be warned the ending sucks!
