Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

I was looking forward to watching this movie, because it sounded great and the cover... Well the cover was more interesting than the movie itself...I almost always watch a movie all the way through, even the bad ones. But this movie, i had to stop at about 30 minutes in. Yes, that's how awful it is. I don't know how bad the rest of the movie is, but judging on the first 30 minutes, I really doubt that it is getting any better...It begins with this group of young people who walk by a food-stand of some sort (I guess?), and they witness some animal cruelty, which to me is just a sad attempt to get people to watch the movie or get "freaked out". I think that animal cruelty in a movie like this one, is just a way of saying that they are not able to come up with any good material.Anyway, I kept on watching this thing...Later on, the group of young people enter a sleazy adult theater or some place like that. By the way, the group consists of both young males and females, and why would the girls agree to enter such a place to begin with?? When they get in to this theater place, what do they do? Yes, you guessed it! They do drugs... It just makes the characters look so stupid, and the result is that you don't even care about what's going to happen to them, anymore. You want to be able to relate the the main characters in a movie, but who is dumb enough to have the same thoughts as these people: "Hey, we are in a foreign country. We don't know the place, and we just witnessed a local guy being cruel to an animal. It's night and the neighborhood does not seem to be that safe, so why don't we all enter this creepy and sleazy adult theater?" "No, that is probably not a good idea..... UNLESS WE DO DRUGS!!!"I think that this was where I quit watching this movie...So should you watch this movie? Yes, if you like any of the following:Animal cruelty scenesCheap actingDrugsRidiculously bad attempts at creating a Hostel-like movieI would not recommend it... At least not the part of it that I watched.

OK...first....I love bad movies. I got Live Feed in a pack of 5 movies for $10 at a pawn shop. The people that reviewed this movie and called it bad with bad acting has not seen a REAL bad movie with REAL bad acting yet. Trust me. There are much much worse! So...compared to some of the other stuff that I've been watching the last two weeks, this was actually quite good. Not Academy Award winning good, but it was a good movie to watch over a couple of nights while I worked out for an hour each night. The acting was fair. The blood and gore was somewhat over the top (does blood really squirt that much getting cut open???)The nudity was great. Two of the co-starring "actresses" showed a bit of skin. The stripper at the beginning was sort of cute too, but not in the same way as the co-stars. The lead actress didn't show much at all....sorry to say....since she was definitely the best looking out of the bunch. Low dollar horror needs to make everything up in skin. This movie does a good job in that department.I thought the cop's brother had one of the best parts, plus he seemed to be one of the better actors in this whole thing....well...maybe the butcher was....but he didn't have to say anything, so I guess he doesn't count. The scene between one of the girls and the "tourist" was over the top and bordered on comedy. It was one of the worse of the scenes as far as acting.Overall, this is a good movie. I didn't even fast forward it like I did some of the others.

You gotta see this! There's a group of some idiots who anger a triad leader in China and then they go to some porno movie theater. All of a sudden, everybody starts getting tortured and murdered, while the triad dude watches on a video screen! I was laughed at the horrible acting and the cheesy look. I couldn't get enough of the old guy with the missing teeth and the triad leader. When it was all over, I was still laughing. I especially found the scene in which the guy gets burned in the kitchen to be hilarious. The plot doesn't make too much sense, but whatever. I was quite astonished with the imagination of the creators of this. There was some demented stuff going on here. It had everything from forced cannibalism to sticking a pipe in somebody's throat and putting a snake in it. It was brutal. It was a fun little B movie, but it was so gross that I can really only recommend it to gore-hounds. Anyway, check it out if you like gory movies or if you want a good laugh. The directors of this are creative and I could totally see them making a good scary film with the sick imagination that they have been "blessed" with. Also, if you have it on the unrated DVD, watch the porno extra feature. It is as funny as the film itself!

2005 gave us the very decent "gore porn" flick Hostel, and 2006 gave us Live Feed; a not so decent rip-off of Hostel. Live Feed follows pretty much the same formula as Eli Roth's earlier film, except this time the dumb kids are in Asia rather than central Europe. The plot focuses on these dumb kids, and one of them has annoyed one of the locals so they find themselves in trouble. The locals decide to lock them all in a theatre, and kill them. Despite the fact that I'd heard some less than favourable things about this film before seeing it, I still hoped that it might be at least half decent because director Ryan Nicholson previously made the very decent 45 minute rape and revenge film 'Torched', but this film falls down simply because most of it is either ridiculous or boring. The film is obviously trying to hark back to the good old days of Grindhouse cinema (which Hostel did, successfully), but it really doesn't come off. Surprisingly, considering Nicholson's previous work in special effects - not even the gore is impressive...although it is a lot better than the acting! There's not much else I can say about this film...it's bad and not in a good way. Avoid it!
