Very well executed
Good concept, poorly executed.
An Exercise In Nonsense
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Human empathy and a deep sense of pity draw you in closer and closer to the principle protagonist like a python constricts it's prey. Anti heroes don't come more 'Anti' than this. His intense vulnerability and impending danger act as the hook that attaches itself to your heart strings and drags you deeper into the story. The tension builds with the steady, relentless, unopposed force of gravity as the weight of the crisis grows larger and more consuming with every scene. As you fall deeper and deeper through the dark and twisted plot my only word of advice is 'Don't forget to breathe'. The momentum of emotion and terror build to a climax with such power and ferocity it almost smashes right through the screen. I had to check the seat next to me for a spattering of blood!
