A brilliant film that helped define a genre
The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
This film is riveting from beginning to end, the cast has so much human, raw, emotional depth it speaks volumes to the quality of this piece. An Indie Gem. I recommend this film highly , Stefano
