Random Tropical Paradise (2017)
At the onset of RANDOM TROPICAL PARADISE, Harry Fluder’s life was working out exactly as planned: great job, loyal friends, and the perfect fiancée – until he caught his perfect fiancée having sex with one of his maybe not-so-loyal friends at their wedding. With the wedding cancelled and honeymoon already paid for, Bowie, Harry's best man, convinces Harry to take him along on a "homie-moon." What is supposed to be a refreshing weekend of rest and relaxation turns into an all-out bonkers adventure of epic proportions of sex, drugs, overall mayhem, and mafia intrigue.

I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.
Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%
This movie is exactly what it needs to be: what you expect from watching the trailer, but much more than the trailer. I think the low score is unfair. Although the film isn't perfect, no-one who sees the trailer and who watches movies should expect it to be - and if you have reasonable expectations then this movie is actually a cut above the rest.I would compare this movie favorably with classics such as A Weekend at Bernies and The Hangover, but it doesn't stoop to over-acting like The Hangover does. Instead the movie is filled with well-acted and funny conversations between the two main actors. The laughs weren't out lout for me, but they were very consistently amusing and entertaining.Brooks Wheelan's performance is outstanding in this movie, so much so that I would put him in the top 5 "lovable goofball friend" characters that I can remember. His portrayal is genuinely likable without being over-the-top or mean like recent "lovable goofball friend" characters we've seen lately (eg. Deadpool's buddy).Bryan Greenberg's portrayal is adequate. He plays the sympathetic everyman, and thus isn't supposed to be the wise-cracking party animal. The more important thing is that he has good chemistry with Wheelan and the conversations between the two are pleasing.I liked this movie and would recommend it!
Except for the drug lord, the characters in the movie are mostly genial, and in a weird way, even Joe Pantoliano comes across less menacing in his linen whites. The goons in black, funny as can be, follow orders with more brawn than brains. Drugs and orgies seem par for the course and the hallucination effects were wild! Composer Bryce Jacob's original rendition of "Best Man" is soulful and haunting. The easygoing story-line of Random Tropical Paradise romps through a fantasy escapade, enough to distract you from the real-world craziness.
Not bad at all. It's not going to go down as the greatest comedy of all time, that's a given, but this made me laugh and that's all that's important. It's a feel good movie with a weak plot that seems written by some Movie and TV geeks, but you know what? It gets the job done, and you know what? Comedy in film is difficult to do - the cadence of timing and delivery is magnified on the screen. A subtle alchemy needs to work between the actors to make the audience connect to the characters. In Random Tropical Paradise, best friends Harry Fluder (Bryan Greenberg) and Bowie Pemberton IV (Brooks Wheelan) pull off a believable "homie-moon" adventure with reckless abandon and hilarity. We go along for the ride, through some anticipated capers and some unexpected twists in the tale. Each cast member, no matter how minor or major their part, has played their role well. Funny script shot in a lovely location! Enjoyable!
