True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

Hated every minute of it. 1. Lead actress was suffering from extreme mental retardation. There's a ghost after u and u keep jogging on the stairs very carefully. 2. No suspense. 3. No story no plot 4. Even it failed to scare my 6 year old son. 5. The neighbours were the worst actors I 've ever seen. 1/10. 1 point for her sex scene. Avoid it.

I like indie films and I'm prepared to give them slack that I wouldn't give to mainstream movies. I hated this movie. The acting was, throughout, bad. Sometimes painfully bad. Again, I can put up with that. Professional actors cost money that independent movie makers don't have and indie films give new talent a chance to make their marks. Plot and script writing on the other hand costs nothing and, in both, this movie literally falls apart. Horror movies, even the best of them, require a suspension of disbelief but, when the characters in horror movies start acting in ways that stretch credibility, you have a major problem. Example (one of many): There's a strange man in my new house. Response: Find a knife (check), find a light (check), take some pills, find a comfortable sofa, lie down, sleep till morning (nope). By the end I had completely lost interest in both the characters and the story line. The IMDb rating has been boosted by lots of positive reviews (no doubt from friends and family) and I'm confident it's only going to head in one direction. Don't waste your time watching it and, if you do, leave a suitable review. Don't be surprised however if your review is instantly attacked with lots of "This review was not useful to me" hits.

Lake Eerie does everything I like in horror that seems all too rare these days. First, the story takes its time introducing the characters, the plot, and the setting. This seems simple, however, it is so often rushed (or completely absent) in many modern horror films.Solid acting all around for an indie. One weak performance, but several really great performances, Betsy Baker being my favorite. The lead was also convincing, not to mention pretty. The story was intelligent and unique, with a surprising amount of depth to it. At first I thought I knew where the film was going, but I was way off. I love when a movie can do that. The music is superb and really ties everything together. It adds heaps of atmosphere to the film. The tone and atmosphere really stuck with me after watching it. It's one I'd watch again.

I thought this had very similar atmosphere to horror films of the 70s and 80s, but at the same time doesn't feel retro. The house they used for filming looks amazing, it completely becomes a character itself.I will say that after my first viewing at the Horror Hound film festival I liked it but didn't love it. But for the next few days after seeing it, I couldn't stop thinking about it, it just stuck with me. So I bought it once it came out on VOD and I have to say it gets better with repeat viewings. There is quite a bit of depth to the story. It has become one of my favorite modern horror films, low budget that is.8/10
