if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Watched this because it was recommended by a friend, who said it was very good.It is excellent! It does not overly rely on jump scares, even though there is a big one at the end. The horror comes from the atmosphere of the story. It is well written with a great twist. Also, the characters are believable. There are no Mary Sues or Jack Sues. No one survives.PS: Have been doing a horror movie marathon recently. Watched End of the Line, Coming Soon, who are both very good, and Blair Witch, which is poor, even by Hollywood standards. Conclusion: Hollywood mainstream horror movies generally fail to be horrifying. Good horror movies are generally not as well known, but smartly crafted. They usually come from countries other than US.

I always say that if it is not that great, nor bad, it goes perfectly in the middle, so 5 it is! But Coming Soon did try to surpass its condition, therefore, I'll show my appreciation giving it a solid 6!Why? Because I had fun watching it, some good horror elements, good use of the audio, an ending harder to anticipate than usual, overall, a nice time in front of the screen! So I wont give you any hints, with the exception of "Try It!" and thank me later, Coming Soon, may not be something everyone heard of, but it does not make it any less better than most such productions. Underrated, underground, unheard, does not translate into bad! Watch it, works perfectly for a night late horror!Cheers!

The Thai horror movie industry appears to be flourishing these days, Shutter, Alone, Coffin, 4bia...It has spawned a respectable number of productions, though not all are created equally scary."Coming soon," which was released in 2008, starts off with an advanced screening of a horror flick having the same name (Coming Soon). As a marketing gimmick to draw in more audience, the movie comes with the claim that it is based on a true story. However, much to the dismay of those who saw the film the creepy effect lingers long after the viewing, because everyone who watches it mysteriously dies and the bodies somehow are transported into the movie itself.Former boyfriend and girlfriend Chen and Peoll, also protagonists in this movie, inevitably become entangled and are persistently haunted by a vengeful ghost. To avoid looming death, the two set out to find the true story behind the making of "Coming Soon." From there the tension continuously builds, climaxing when the truth is finally revealed. The ghost's makeup is designed to have an all-around repelling effect, compounding the baleful venomous stare with an thoroughly dirty look. If one is not scared, then one is nauseated by the suspicious yellow chemical that coats the ghost's body. The turn off is effective either way. And I am very serious about the atmosphere being spooky. It will make your heart pound. At this point, I would almost say "Coming Soon" is a fine movie. Alas no, it was a good horror until the last 30 seconds. Then it crashed. Since I don't want to ruin the fun for those who stumble upon this review, I shall conclude with this advice for the director: More is not always better; stalking sometimes is creepier than a direct confrontation.

Fortunate for me, Pattaya shows movies with English subtitles...Thai customs makes Ghosts scarier than any other horror imaginable. For a westerner to take concept of this shows the ability of this film to give a plausible atmosphere to sustain belief in the fantasy presented - which was done well. There are some humorous notes to offset the frightening scenes (as all horror films possess), but enough scare factor to keep you on the edge of your seat.Personally I liked the ending; it was a little unexpected... And if you saw movies like the original "The Eye" or "The Eye 2" or "The Eye 10" then you probably would too!
