Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

I am not a petrol head, I don't really find motorbikes that interesting and I know nothing about the TT race. But, this film is excellent. I really got the feeling of the speed these people ride at - it is truly frightening. I found myself with my hand in my mouth at some points at the utter, utter craziness of it all. It is a really well made and well put together documentary about one year of the Isle of Man TT Race following the major riders, event organisers and other people connected to the event. The main focus of the film is a rider called Guy Martin...for obvious reasons...which you'll get when you watch the film. He is unconventionally good looking...funny...and a little bit eccentric. The other thing I loved about the film is the photography, generally. From the on-bike shots, to the sweeping aerial shots of the course. Overall a great movie.

I've been a fan of the TT since I was 12, and finally got to see one in person in 2015. It was everything I'd hoped for, and more.I've done some racing, and worked in the media, so I'm more critical than average when it comes to racing films. Until I watched Closer to the Edge, there was only one film that I considered "great", and that was Le Mans, with Steve McQueen. Now, there are two of what I consider great; ... Le Mans and Closer to the Edge. This film is absolutely perfect, from start to finish. The camera work, music and the editing, ... especially the editing (by Beverley Mills), are excellent. If the camera work, edits and music during the run-up to the Senior TT don't give you goose-bumps, you aren't alive.I only wish I'd seen this in a theater, in 3D, instead of on my computer screen. But on the other hand, I wouldn't be able to stop and replay scene after scene in a theater, or pause it to catch my breath every few minutes.Everyone involved in the making of this excellent look at an amazing event should be proud of their work.

I so wanted to like this having heard nothing but great things about it from biker friends and even non-bikers that had seen it, that I was feeling a little apprehensive when I finally sat down to watch it. I shouldn't have worried as even with the weight of that expectation, what a treat! What a fantastically well told account of the build up to and the actual TT races themselves one particularly year in it's history. Told with such human interest from a range of characters including the wonderfully maverick and unintentionally comic Guy Martin, the world record setting Ian Hutchinson and the TT legend that is Jon McGuinness amongst others, TT3D CTTE is a superb film on every level. Beautifully shot, high octane pace, great characters and back stories and I have to say a sensitive and thoughtful approach to the tragic events that year. The tagline says something about not being alive just because you're breathing, and bike fan or not how true is that? It's been 20 years since I made a boyhood trip to the TT but the memory of the thrill remains and it's now on my to do list once again. Laugh out loud highlight for me was Guy's explanation of what he would find "unbelievable". That's worth the price of the DVD alone. If you liked "Senna" and/or you have an ounce of adrenalin in your body, whether or not you think you're interested in bikes or the TT, watch this film. You'll love it. 10/10

I saw the film in Maidstone and it was stuck in the smallest of the screens at a multiplex and it was packed. There was a cross section of bikers on bikers, bikers like me in the car, plus lots of people that might not be bikers at all.Having been to the TT quite a few times I thought I knew what to expect. I have seen on-bike coverage many times but the 3D element of this one was superb. As a documentary it was very well put together and we got to see both aspects of the the lives of the riders both current and past.I can't wait for the sequel based on the 2011 TT!!!
