Nolan Mack, a soft-spoken bank employee, undoubtedly loves his wife Joy, though their cavernous empty house only underscores how disconnected they’ve always been from each other. Nolan finds himself drifting from his familiar present-day life in pursuit of lost time after meeting a troubled young man named Leo on his drive home. What begins as an aimless drive down an unfamiliar street turns into a life-altering series of events.

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Contrary to what most here have posted, this movie is just as sickening as you may have imagined after glancing at the synopsis. Robin Williams has always been a bad actor with a fondness for portraying sodomites, so this movie was just par for the course. I had to force myself to watch the entire movie due to the abhorrent subject matter, but basically, this movie is about a disturbed man with low libido, presumably molested as a child, who betrays his loving family and turns to sodomizing guys to add some spice in his life. Quite a lesson to learn from, huh?Don't waste your time on this one and definitely keep the kids away.

Dito Montiel directs the first of the last four movies Robin Williams made before his untimely death. Nolan Mack(Williams)became too comfortable with his mundane, sexless life. Surely his wife Joy(Kathy Baker)must have had a clue he may be gay; they slept in separate rooms. Not that he loved money, Nolan worked at the same bank branch for over two decades. He seemed tight with his money until one night driving aimlessly on the boulevard he meets up with a troubled young male prostitute named Leo(Roberto Aguire). He keeps wanting to see the young man and will pay him for his time, without sex being involved. Mr. Mack's life will become altered with a chain of life changing events taking place. Depressing and yet, heartfelt.Williams is excellent. Also in the cast: Bob Odenkirk, Curtis Gordon, Elenore Hendricks and Gary Gardner.

Until I saw a preview for this film (On Demand), I did not even know it existed. When I saw it starred Robin Williams (in his last role), I knew I had to see it. I was very glad that I did."Boulevard" is a tale of a very desperate man, Nolan (played extremely well by Robin Williams). Nolan is a man trapped in his own personal hell. Involved in a marriage of convenience--whose, I'll let you find out--and dealing with his own personal demons, Nolan feels there is no life to live in his world; no passion, no happiness, but most of all, no love. Through the course of the film, you find he has just recently dealt with the death of his mother, and he now finds himself the "dutiful son," dealing with his father who is now confined to a nursing home. Nolan is so unhappy, he cannot even fathom a new start for him when his bank manager tells him he has recommended him for a promotion. And then one evening, Nolan makes a u-turn on the "boulevard" where he meets Leo (played by Roberto Acquire). I am surprised more people did not know about this movie, nor have a chance to see it. I did not feel, as it seems most people do, the movie was a "downer." In fact, I felt just the opposite. The movie was uplifting for me because it shows even in the worst possible circumstances, we CAN find a way to survive. Kathy Baker is simply superb as Williams' wife, Joy. It is almost ironic her name is joy when there is so little of that in her life. It was almost a complete surprise when I came to realize exactly what her life entailed. Very tightly directed by Dito Montel, I think we've all been on that boulevard in some form or fashion. I recommend this one. Rated R for language and adult situations.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Boulevard" (2014) is a good character study drama. The plot is simple yet intriguingly shown. Acting was good, but nothing really special. Robin Williams was solid in here - in his last dramatic role. This won't going to be a movie he will be remembered for, but this is a nice drama. Although i was thinking by the end that Robin William's character was probably the most stupidest man on earth for falling for such a pathetic looser, the ending was nice and kinda redeemed this character. Overall, "Boulevard" is a very nice little drama. It has nice acting, but directing and script were highlights - at running time 1 h 24 min this movie barely drags and is very watchable one, if sometimes a bit predictable.
