The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Ms. 45 is about some woman who gets raped by a couple of guys. Then she goes on her period and decides to kill men. This movie would make a great guide for those idiotic feminists who want to dabble in sheer misandrism. @#&+$! Well, I didn't care about this movie. The violence is nice but the story is worthless and the pacing blows. A waste of time....

After being raped twice in the same afternoon, a mute seamstress in one of New York's fashion houses (Zoe Lund), obtains a 45 caliber pistol with which she metes out justice on any future potential threat from the city's sex-obsessed male population. They all seem to be standing around on corners hustling her as she passes by. But that's not really the character of this film so much as the transformation Lund's character undergoes from meek mute to sympathetic while utterly ruthless serial killer, from prey to predator, which reaches its apex when she arrives at a Halloween party that concludes the film dressed as a sexy nun with her 45 strapped to her leg. By this point the body count has risen substantially, accompanied by an other-worldly lounge jazz film score, with each victim drawn out just enough to show his sleaziest side by the great director Abel Ferrara, of whom this film must be considered among his absolute best efforts.

A movie that shows how pity is the biggest problem of women slaves of their men. You can't live in fear, like Thana's landlord does or all her friends, that limit their reactions to men hitting on them, to edgy lines. Which is just hiding from a problem. Thana is mute (and Zoë Tamerlis Lund looks also very delicate) and well I would say that there is no better metaphor than that, regarding the female condition. SPOILER: The final scene also shows how considerate are Thana's actions and all the murders she knows will lead to her death. She knows she can't change the social dynamics, but she can't live with that weight anymore and at the same time has comprehension towards the men which look like coming towards her gun so easily; there is a guilt in men, which she's just expiating (the nun dress) and at the same time it's interesting to notice how at the end she understands that probably the biggest enemy to women are the women themselves (obv when she's shot). The slavery materializes in their attitude to nurse the men's guilt towards them.

Ms. 45 (1981): Dir: Abel Ferrara / Cast: Zoe Tamerlis Lund, Editta Sherman, Albert Sinkys, Darlene Stuto, S. Edward Singer: Gripping and tense thriller about identity. The beautiful Zoe Tamerlis Lund plays a mute seamstress named Thana who is raped twice within the first ten minutes of the film. She kills her second attacker in her apartment with an iron. She then proceeds to butcher the body in her bathtub, which she distributes in shopping bags throughout the city. She seizes the pistol from her second attacker and goes from a paranoid victim to a full on man hunter, stalking the streets at night, dressed to seduce and cutting loose on any males who possess an abusive nature, including a well crafted scene where she is encircled by a gang. Director Abel Ferrara improves greatly after the horrible Driller Killer. He makes great use of New York locations as well as deliver a rousing climax at a Halloween party. Questions arise as to where all the bullets are coming from, and perhaps more on the police investigation would have added. Lund is exquisitely stunning going from violated to vigilante. Appealing supporting work from Albert Sinkys as Thana's boss, Editta Sherman as her nosy senile landlady, Darlene Stuto as the outspoken profane co-worker, and S. Edward Singer as a sleazy photographer. Chilling view of crimes that target women who have no voice to speak out until the crime is turned upon itself. Score: 9 / 10
