The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

I love many musical productions and one of my favourites is Jesus Christ Superstar, which has been redone many times with varying degrees of success, but do any of them beat the Ted Neeley version in 1973, probably not, but they are all very good and have their own merits. Ian Gillan as JCS was mind blowing! For me RHPS original is sublime! Since then there have been many many stage shows which I am sure we all love! The way to treat this movie is as a stage show version of the orignal that has been filmed and edited on superb film sets in high quality sound and video! The voices are out of this world, the acting is just as tongue in cheek as the orignal and it's great fun! Laverne Cox is incredibly sexy in this role and her voice gives me shivers and goosebumps! I especially love the Tina Turner style dancing on Rose Tint My World. So if you haven't seen it, go in with an open mind of a production version of the film, not a competitor and enjoy the familiar songs and story performed by some top actors and singers, it's an 8 from me! Nicely done.....

I stumbled across this abomination while randomly flicking through channels on my Foxtel. What's that I hear? "Move on" "Keep flicking if you don't like what you see"? This adaptation (and I struggle to justify the word) was so bad that I went to the trouble of recovering my IMDB password via email to leave this review! I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show on the listing then saw that it was under Premiere Movies. Hmm, strange for a movie from 1975 but ok, let's click on it. Maybe it's in the wrong place. Let me tell you, the wrong place for this is the planet Earth! I can only imagine the look on my face as I started to watch, then my jaw continued to drop as the horror of it all progressed. The final straw was seeing Frank'n'furter. The casting was abysmal. As another reviewer put it - he could have done better himself and he is blind! I managed to last for most of the lab scene then I could watch no more. As a lover of all things horror (picture show and schlock horror films from the 50's included!), I can say that this is not horror, it's plain terrible. DON'T DO IT!!! I wish the makers hadn't :(

It's got a modern look! Better cameras! Cleaner soundtrack! Even more exaggerated! An even more slick and polished soundtrack that sounds like it was produced along with a big band! It sucks!I heard the slick, styled remake of The Time Warp that reminded me of Footloose and couldn't help but laugh at this farce. And when you hear the classic line "it's just a jump to the left!" you hear zero spirit and strength from Tim Curry, who sounds like he's sadly on his way out. No spirit, no gusto, no enthusiasm, more like grabbing a name who is so far past his prime and getting him excited about one last time... driving at the Indy 500 as a septuagenarian. That's what this is.The original was ridiculous. The music was clearly the best part and the movie so ridiculous that the fun was in talking back to the screen such as in Mystery Science Theatre 3000. And the only saving graces in this film is that Tim Curry is so hilarious with his perfectly timed facial expressions, inspired by not copying anyone else. Yet this version rips everything that "worked" out from the original to create a pitiful "homage" version - complete with an audience talking back to the screen - as if it wants to have nostalgic appeal to old fans and bring them in. It's such forced fun that it's painful to watch. Even the famous "I see you shiver in anticip.... ation" line is blown badly. It's so overproduced shmaltzy Hollywood conceit that it completely misses the point of why Curry's take was so fresh. I have no problem with multiculturalism but this one also strains it with adding another name, Ben Vereen, into the mix. Someone in Hollywood came up with this dumb idea to appeal to everyone and casting a black transsexual as Dr. Frank... which is missing the entire point. The point is that Frank is obviously a MAN dressed up as a woman, not a man who has been phsycially altered and is taking hormones to look like a woman. They just decided to go with "well, she's popular, black and does a pretty good imitation, let the story line and point of the whole routine be damned."Rating this a 4 is giving it too much credit, even with some of the talent in the show. Adam Lambert is pretty funny and nails his small part very well. But even he can't save this overproduced farce which has cutaways to show it's a movie / musical and that merchandise can be purchased easily and tweet it out to all your friends. Hollywood only survives because Indies have yet to supplant this big budget slop.

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again" is a remake of the 1975 Cult-classic film, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Going into this movie I thought to myself, "maybe it won't be so bad". By the end, I gathered my thoughts. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. The acting is horrendous, as if the actors were in a high school play; and the Musical numbers are inferior compared to the original. The main problem I have with this movie is the atmosphere of it, it's trying to hard to be like other musical remakes (i.e. Grease). The original had its own feel to it, it was low budget, grainy, and cheap, yet it was original and fresh. Overall, if you want to introduce your friends to Rocky Horror Picture Show, avoid this movie like the plague.
