War of the Worlds (2005)

Nice effects though.
Charming and brutal
A different way of telling a story
an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.
Even though this is basically horror based loosely on Wells novel, for me it's more ! It's about a father whose kids stay with his mother , his relationship with daughter and son ,and the father risks everything to protect them. Then at the end of movie after he saves their lives he gives them back to his mother . So true in real life where mothers get custody over kids just because of their gender!
As Earth is invaded by alien tripod fighting machines, one family fights for survival. War of the Worlds is definitely not as good as some other movies of Steven Spielberg but it works thanks to a terrific perfomance by Tom Cruise but also outstanding special effects and lots of suspense that builts quite well. The kids were a bit annoying i'll admit that but they weren't also completely awful especially Dakota Fanning. It's different from it's source material from what i know but it's still pretty good plus Tim Robbins also did a very good job as well. (8/10)
The movie is filled with intense thrilling moments that are so good
I watched this movie in 2018, and i have been looking forword to watch it. But What I saw was a bad movie with bad acting and bad effects. It was not a really bad movie like other terrible alien invasion movies but it was nothing special! The movie is just a sequence of bad and forgettable scenes that are not related at all. And some of the Charackters are very anoying and are completly overexagerated, especially the kids! Evry sceene the girl does somthing extremly dumb, I just had a rage at how dumb boring and usless her charackter was. The ending is probably one of the laziest and most boring in the History of Sci-fi. Nothing is explained and to compensate a random narrator pops up and says somthing that is supposed to explain! The aliens arnt defeated they just die! No hero, no logic just accept it! I think the only readon this movie got attention back in the day was because of the CGI and tomy cruise!
