I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

This movie could have been awesome if not for the religious crap trying to brainwash you all the time.Don't listen to the religious freaks crowd, they are simply defending their own crap. It is sad to see the religious freaks now entering movies and trying to recruit new victims with their propaganda. Simply disgusting and LOW.If their god would see them he would be very angry that they use such subterfuge to recruit more souls. If the religious babble doesn't bother you, this movie is tolerable and even interesting. Would have been a lot better without the constant brainwashing. (They don't see it, it's their belief, but for people that don't share this belief, it is VERY annoying, just like the JW ringing your door on Sundays!!)

I went in to this movie not knowing what to expect, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The Good:The acting is pretty solid - About what I would expect out of a lower budget indie movie of this type. While there were supernatural elements, they didn't overdo it with cheesy CGI effects. Up until the very end, what you see of the demons is pretty minimal - Mainly just glimpses. It was a smart decision, as the limited exposure prevented the horror/thriller experience from being cheapened. While the film obviously had a religious bias, the movie itself stands up well as a stand up indie horror. The Bad:The religious rhetoric can be very heavy at times. I wouldn't necessarily say that it detracts from the film as a whole, but there are definitely times where it feels forced. It felt like the production team wasn't quite sure what kind of movie they wanted to make. It starts off as a sort of found footage film, then switches to a regular film while using footage for flashbacks and whatnot. I felt the film would have been a lot stronger had they just stuck to one style. There's also some issues with the script. For me, the biggest issue was with the Sam. Her character didn't serve any purpose. At first I thought she might be an angel that was secretly judging them. Then she turned out to be a regular person, so I was confused as to why she joined up with the main party. Was she supposed to be Tommy's love interest? What was her sin? There just wasn't any real point of her character existing.Overall, if you can forgive the sometimes heavy handedness of the religious rhetoric, the confusion in style, and some of the issues with the script, this is an enjoyable film to watch.

This movie is a complete joke, don't even bother wasting your time watching it. Did I mention the actors, all of them... are horrible?Jeeze, what were the producers thinking yo, take this film off. Should be in some old shelf and should be forgotten. And no I'm not hating because of any of it's Christian aspects okay? I'm a extreme Christian myself, who goes to church every Sunday, but this one was a joke. The effects were pretty cheap and the actors must been pretty cheap too.Waste of film. I will admit Johnny Pacar, Shaun Sipos, Bryan Dechart, John Ferguson, Erin Murphy and Rochelle Acyoth were excellent actors. The rest were horrible and shouldn't even be acting, the actors I listed are the reason why I actually saw this as a movie, the rest seemed like your average amateurs from your old school theaters.Gross.SHOULD YOU WATCH IT?NO.Sidenote...The people who says this movie is good are either family members of the people who contributed to this movie or just people who doesn't know what a real movie is.

During the wedding of Skylar (Alexa PenaVega) and Dan (Bryan Dechart) there is an apocalyptic event that kills most of the guests. The survivors are the newlywed couple and their friends Tommy (Johnny Pacar), Jack (Shaun Sipos) and Allison (Italia Ricci). Skylar is mysteriously wounded and the teenager Sam (Liz E. Morgan) joins the group that seeks shelter in the church of Pastor Shay (John Pyper- Ferguson) that is convinced that they are living The Rapture from the Bible. They discuss faith and the fate of the survivors that are doomed to die.Religion is a theme that is to be respected. However "The Remaining" is a religious brain wash about Christianity in a view of the Apocalypse. The Brazilian DVD does not provide any information in this regard and I was lured with the DVD cover and bought the DVD expecting to see a horror film. My vote is three.Title (Brazil): "Remanescentes: Esquecidos por Deus" ("Remaining: Forgotten by God")
