Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles are needed more than ever, but Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo have become lost and direction less. Leonardo has gone to Central America, on the orders of the martial arts master and father figure Master Splinter, for training. TMNT i feel is truly pretty damn underrated in my opinion and besides who didn't play the game back in the day? or owned figures? from the movie? It was a phenomenon in my opinion and a true TMNT movie with great animation and voice acting. (10/10)

I remember watching the turtles on TV when I was a kid. For some reason I never got around to watching the original trilogy, or indeed this animated version of the story, and I haven't seen the two new films either. So I thought I'd better start somewhere.I guess I've started at the bottom with TMNT, because it's inexcusably awful. It's a loud mess of a film, with no discernible plot and lots of flashy animation included in an attempt to make up for the deficiencies. A case of style over substance, then. The turtles look and sound nothing like they did in the old cartoons that I used to like, and the action scenes are a headache-inducing whirl of noise and imagery that looks like the result of your laptop having a breakdown. The animation of the characters is uniformly awful, particularly the grossly sexualised April O'Neil or the Mr Incredible looking Casey. What is astonishing is the level of voice talent wallowing in this mess. Laurence Fishburne narrates, Mako voices Splinter in his last-ever performance before his death, and even Ziyi Zhang plays in support. I notice the turtles themselves are voiced by nobodies, though. Maybe that says something.

OK, so I think I'll just start by saying this, why is there only a 6.4 rating?!This is by far the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film or TV show that I've seen, it deserves more than what it's getting! Now while I do hope the new remake of the film does well, I highly doubt it's going to be as good as this! You know, I've always loved the gang of green ninja dudes, I watched all the three of the original movies, saw nearly all the episodes on the series that began in 2003 and I've been checking almost every day, searching for more information on the 2014 film, but out of all the films and TV shows, this one was the best. However it was incredibly underrated. As I've already pointed out, it only got a 6.4 on this, on the Rotten Tomatoes film review it only received 34% and tho is the worst of them all, when I went to see this film in the cinema a few years ago, I was the only person there! Just what is it people don't like about this movie? It has got to be one of the best animated films, if not the best animated film of all time! Now the only problem with this film is it didn't have Shredder, the turtles' arch nemesis. But the film was still awesome without him! The villains were pretty bad-ass, April O Neil and Casey were awesome with their costumes, the Turtles were cool (like always) and Splinter is still the cool kick-ass master who will smash you with a big stick if you get on his bad side!So while some say it's bad, if you take my word for it, TMNT is one awesome movie! But that's just my opinion, go watch it and see for yourself what you think! Alan Hathaway

Although through the past twenty years or so I have managed to see all three of the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, I didn't think much of them. So when I sat down to watch this computer animated version, my expectations were pretty low. To my surprise, it was somewhat better than what I was expecting. Though I wished at times that the colors were stronger and more vibrant, the movie for the most part has a good look to it. The director also manages to stage some fairly well done action sequences here and there. The script, however, is a mixed bag. While the screenplay successfully manages to give each turtle a strong and different personality from each other, the central plot concerning the menace the turtles are fighting feels extremely thin and lacking detail. The supporting character (such as April) also feel like afterthoughts. The movie certainly isn't dull, but I do think that more time should have been devoted to rewriting the screenplay. While the movie does in the end manage to be better than what you might expect, it does all the same have some big shortcomings. It will probably help if you are a Ninja Turtle fan.
