Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

Bridget Jones:The Edge Of Reason is a 2004 romantic comedy starring Renee Zellweger,Colin Firth and Hugh Grant and is the sequel to the 2001 flick Bridget Jones Diary. The story is about Bridget who is still in love with Mark Darcy while her ex lover wants her back apparently. Of course Bridget gets jealous of Mark because he is hanging out with a much younger woman who Bridget thinks is dating Mark and things take a turn after that. Bridget goes to Thailand with Daniel to do some news about the place, and she winds up in jail and you will be still laughing once you find out what happens next.Overall I enjoyed this one. Honestly I thought the 3rd one was funnier but this one was good too. Renee was hilarious as Bridget her British accent is spot on and her charcther is the kind of charcther every woman can be. She's quirky, love sick, goofy, envious etc. If you are a fan of the first movie then check it out. I purchased this on Blu Ray for the Xmas and I was glad I picked it up at a good price.

A comedy that is an exact retread of the original. I don't like movies that backtrack. Here we have Bridget Jones suddenly doubting Darcy's fidelity. This leads to misunderstandings, where she is soon, once again, torn between Darcy and Cleaver. The film redoes the same jokes, with funny Christmas sweaters, and another Firth and Grant fight. These are also the funniest moments. At some point the film goes off the rails in such a confusing fashion. Jones ends up arrested because of drug possession and she winds up in a Thai prison. This sounds like some depressing drama, but it's OK, because she teaches the inmates how to have fun with a song and dance number and she also gives them chocolate. If a movie makes a Thai prison look good, I'm pretty sure it fails overall. It also has a climax where they play 3 songs back to back, I assume to sell that ever important soundtrack. A guaranteed hit on Mother's Day I bet.

The film was of inconsistent quality and dialogue, and while an admirable attempt was made to bring in further opinion with the trip to Thailand, they should definitely have included more footage of the Thai masseuse at the hotel....PHWOAR.The film was of inconsistent quality and dialogue, and while an admirable attempt was made to bring in further opinion with the trip to Thailand, they should definitely have included more footage of the Thai masseuse at the hotel....PHWOAR.

The inevitable sequel to a pretty unfunny original about a Doris Day for the 21st century i.e. a blonde scatterbrain who is also a bit of a slapper.I'm surprised and slightly horrified to learn that many presumably intelligent young women identify with Bridget Jones who lives in student - like squalor and surrounds herself with foul - mouthed friends who cannot keep their noses out of her business. She is totally dependent on the approval of men and torn between to equally appalling examples of the gender, the posh, satyr and media type Mr H.Grant and the catatonic lawyer Mr C.Firth. Mr Firth takes her on a "hilarious"ski trip where it is proved beyond any doubt that Miss R.Zellwegger has absolutely no gift for physical comedy and Mr Grant takes her to Thailand where she is "hilariously" arrested for drug smuggling.Whilst in prison she leads her fellow jailbirds in a "hilarious" version of"Like a virgin" and it is proved beyond any doubt that Miss Zellwegger has absolutely no gift for physical comedy. Her two beaus are involved in a fight over her(there's daring for you) and Bridget herself gets soaked by a passing car whilst crossing the road.I think I'm sensing a pattern here. Even if you loved "Bridget Jones' Diary" you may find "The Edge of Reason" is a Bridget too far.
