This Movie Can Only Be Described With One Word.
Better Late Then Never
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
I am a sucker for dog stories and true stories and when you put the two together, to me, it's magical. I just finished watching "The Stray" on DVD after finding it at Walmart. I had not heard of it before, but the cover reeled me in. Unfortunately, I am not surprised at the negative reviews here because there will always be those who will find the negative in anything. I guess I am more of a "glass-is-half-full" person. I found this to be a very sweet and touching story, even though there is a scene toward the end that was a little difficult to watch. At the same time, it is life, and sometimes life itself can be difficult to get through, and it's what we do at those times that brings out our true character. If you would like something to help lift you up and give your faith a bit of a boost, in addition to some beautiful scenery, you can't go wrong with this little gem of a movie. It simply touched me.
There was a lot to dislike about this movie. I am a dog lover but from the 1st scene till the tent scene the director had the dog barking constantly, you'd have to be an idiot to allow your dog to do this. After a short time I almost muted it. Terrible script and the only thing that made this movie worthwhile was the sexy Sarah Landcaster. I will recommend to anyone asking that instead of watching this go & watch some paint dry it was more believable & interesting
Nowhere in the summary did I read that this movie was some BS plot to show the world "gods" amazing revival skills in an extremely unrealistic plot about a son hating his terrible and absent father.
This is one of the worst movies I have ever had to sit through in my 54 years. Unintelligent dribble. There are 2 or 3 times that the dog actually interacts as part of the story. There is more script about the dog at it's funeral than in the entire rest of the movie. If you are looking for a sappy movie about a struggling writer this is for you. Notice I said movie, not story. I am still trying to figure out exactly what story was being told in this movie.
