Surprisingly incoherent and boring
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
She should be on suicide watch right now. Fired from FOX News as the black and Mexican token women, to a FAILED run for a office, to this shiat show
Without a doubt this has to be the best thuglife, gangsta movie I have ever seen with an primarely black American cast. If this does't become the Oscar grabbing movie for the best actor, best screenplay, best score, best director, best music, best e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g in the 2019 Academy Awards... then I don't what else does. This is a 9 out of 10. I Wanted to give it a 10 out of 10 if that Tara character was not played by a white actress. U no waad M sain?
You are in for a treat Disappointing is too kind a description. Someone is on a delusional ego trip with no idea about real life and struggles Wonder where I get merchandise for this honour UP ?
I don't know where to begin. This film seems like the creator Damon Dash just wants to make a movie because he can. This film is filled with narration from Mr. Dash explaining things in the film instead of showing anything. Constant slow motion gun fights with music/opera playing. The story just shows generic themes and Mr. Dash's narration paints it however he intends without actually showing you anything. He obviously just put in friends/family/associates as cast just to keep it mostly in house. There are a couple real actors but mostly just people with no acting training that are just associates of Mr Dash. The movie is probably 60 percent slow motion gun fights and 30 percent narration with maybe 10 percent of actual story. With the exception of paid in full which Mr Dash did not direct or write, any movie Dame Dash is involved with is film school amateur class at best. I cannot recommend this movie to anyone, not even super fans of the genre. Its that bad.
