Maximilian was a righteous man, but a member of a fearsome clan of bandits. One day he encounters the destination: the witches of the moors advocate his ascension to the control of the band. At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
The first must-see film of the year.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
This movie was a big surprise for me in the Mar del Plata film festival. Its a bizarre and epic twist of Macbeth. The production values are outstanding and the directing is just great. Its a movie in the tradition of El Topo(in this case its not a western, its medieval). It has action, intellectual things, blood and lots of simbolism. I Hope this movie and his director will have the recognition that they deserve.10/10. Excelent
