n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

I've heard some people complain about the poor quality of the copies of this film, but that's one of its finer aspects. And the nighttime scenery in whichever large city this is in. The beautiful pan to the high rise apartment where our hero Dean Turner has taken Jo...then they take us inside where we get a look at Dean's phenomenal bachelor pad. he's got the sweet couch and lighting, a stocked bar in a dark room, and "the ladies room is that way....the bedroom is that way too." And don't forget his hi fi record player with easy listening mood music. I don't care how much this subplot diverges from the main one- it's my favorite part, and it makes you care about these two characters as they are about to get married towards the end. The first we see of the Demon after his opening kill is the hitching scene, which is a cool little dark scene as well....the dialogue is funny small talk "I guess I do go on a bit....." "Even my mother thinks I'm on the other side.." "Hey don't let me scare you" This is a very interesting slasher from a formula standpoint. We are introduced to the victim's parents and Mitchell at the beginning, and all three characters are abandoned later in favor of the schoolteachers... Jennifer Holmes' old neighbor is funny too. A film that you can't miss if you're a horror fan.

*Spoiler/plot- 1981, Rather sad horror slasher film. A bloodthirsty monster murderer is terrorizing a small rural town. Young lovely single women are stalked and made to experience their worst fears while being tortured unto their deaths.*Special Stars- Cameron Mitchell, Jennifer Homes, Zoli Markley. Written, directed and produced by Percival Reubens.*Theme- Single women beware of the night and being alone.*Based on- Big budget horror 'slasher' and 'psychic' Hollywood films. And The Manson murders in the news.*Trivia/location/goofs- Shot in South Africa during its black/white segregation 'troubles'. This film is a plot composite 'knock-off' of many popular big budget horror films like 'Halloween' and clairvoyant films like 'Poltergeist'. Look for the killer villain's masks to disappear and reappear in shots. The film is shot too dark to catch the plot action in much of the film. That's somewhat annoying.*Emotion- Cameron Mitchell's role as a extrasensory investigator to find the murderer is over before it gets interestingly started, almost his only 'cameo' role. A somewhat forgettable film, accept for the female nudity supplied by the lovely Jennifer Homes and Zoli Markley. The gratuitous nature of the blond lead actress/victim total nudity in the last part of the film is somewhat questionable and not very subtle.

The Demon was a film that used both American and British players, but was shot in South Africa. This was an effort by the apartheid government to bring the movie business to their country as a place films could be shot in. After losing 93 minutes of my life I won't get back watching The Demon, I'm still trying to figure out what I saw. There's this guy stalking and killing people who wears a flesh like mask, the better not to read his character. The most well known name in the cast is shot and killed because Cameron Mitchell rubs the woman that hired him the wrong way. He's the guy who is a combination cop and psychic who will bring The Demon down. After that I was totally lost.Hopefully the Mandela government and his successors are doing better by the South African film industry.

After home invasion and kidnapping of a young girl an older couple decides to hire a mystic(Cameron Mitchell)with extrasensory perception to find missing child. There is also demonic strangler on the loose, who kills some victims and stalks a nursery school teacher."The Demon" is "Halloween" clone from South Africa. The climax resembles John Carpenter's dark house stalk with the exception of the Strode-like blonde teacher running topless in panties around the house and locking herself in the bathroom to finally defeat her masked stalker with a pair of scissors."The Demon" is slow-moving and lacks suspense and gore.Still it's watchable enough to give it 6 out of 10.
