Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Some people have criticised CRIMSON FORCE of ripping off the plot of STARGATE but this is misleading . Let's be honest here and ask did anyone watching this shout out " Hey this reminds me of that movie with competent actors , a big budget and big action sequences " ? The film starts with the first manned landing on Mars in 2037 . In other words the greatest achievement in human history has come about and for some reason everyone reacts as though they're just spending another day arriving at a mundane day at work . The whole apathetic banality of the characters continues throughout the movie One irritating thing for the audience is that it's painfully obvious that the budget only stretches to a couple of small sets . In fact it could be the exact same set with the set designer tinkling with things to make it look it another set . Director David Flores doesn't help matters by shooting nearly every shot in medium close up which means CRIMSON FORCE ends up being a dire boring movie that doesn't even aspire to be a clichéd so bad it's almost good type of movie

What an absolutely horrible, misguided movie. Clearly, the writer was trying to take pieces of Mission to Mars, and Stargate, and trying to throw something together to pay the rent. The story is lame, the acting is non existent. Why does C Thomas Howell continue to do this kind of garbage. He may not be 'A List', but he is better than this nonsense. There are a couple of passable 'not so special' effects, but that's about it.I for one would be thrilled to see SciFi go back to airing old "B" flicks from the 50's, and maybe some more MST3K

This movie is dodgy, plain and simple. In some sequence you can easily tell that the characters are animated in-particularly the rock climbing shots. It wasn't even good animation. In another shot, the camera is all over the place. The camera man must has being shaking like mad. This is not acceptable in a modern day sci-fi flick but yet this movie was allowed to do it. Apart from that, the storyline is weak also. It all seemed like an episode of Stargate. The alien intrusion on Earths History, the staf like weapons and the dodgy looking crests here and their just gave the film a look of stargate rip-off which is just not on. Fair enough, originality is hard to get these days as almost all ideas have been done at some stage but to copy big elements so glaringly is the sign that the producers were half asleep when they were doing this picture. The acting was OK however but again not the best. Overall this film is a poor sci-fi flick so check out other sci-fi movies if you want to be entertained.

I had TIVO'ed this Sci-Fi Channel original movie, and only now just got around to watching it. I have to say, I really enjoyed it. The movie surprises you along the way. At first, you think it's just about astronauts going to Mars, but then it's about more. The movie has secret civilizations, conspiracy, action, twists, and lots of sci-fic lore.I loved the cross-cultural alliances that were built during the story. They were logical, and what's most interesting is that both sides were right. The villains (both human and alien) had a legitimate point of view, even though they were nasty. That theme reminded me of the similarly named "Crimson Tide" (admittedly, a much bigger "A" movie, but one in which both sides were "right" in their own way). The ending makes a strong statement about understanding your enemy and understanding that all people (um, species) have more in common than you might think. This movie was worth the TIVO hard drive space it took up over the last month!
