Lampião, King of the Badlands (1963)
The story of how a quarrel between families set poor farmer Virgulino Ferreira da Silva on the path to become Lampião, the greatest leader of the cangaceiros - bandits who roamed the Northeast of Brazil until the late 1930s.

One of my all time favorites.
Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Weak, overlong and monotonous movie about Lampião, a Brazilian outlaw who spreads fear and violence in rural hinterlands in the 20 and 30's. The movie is innacurated with historical aspects of this almost legendary history characther and although the good cast the result is boring and disappointing. See "O Cangaceiro" (1953) instead of this one.
