This movie is boring from the word go. Saket Chaudhary directed the evergreen Pyaar Ke Side Effects (PKSE) and after 8 years directed this one. Complete crap and a bore. No offence, I have watched PKSE 20 times (or may be more) and am willing to watch it any number of times when it comes on TV. Yes. But this one was a total waste. Not sure where to start, since nothing was good. Last I saw Farhan Akhtar in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. I need not say anything else, wonder why he singed up for this movie. Average performance for an average plot. Vidya Balan has just bloated up like anything. From the very first scene till the end she always looked like an Aunty. All the dresses she wore made sure she did justice to the word Aunty. Her last movie Ghanchakkar was not that great but much better than this one. Even though Ram Kapoor reminds me of a TV serial only, he was good in his role. Vir Das has a short role and he did good too.I guess the plot was not that great and unlike PKSE, SKSE did not have that much juice to make you laugh and cringe across evenly. Even though the first half of actually tolerable, the second half dragged like hell. The story took uneven turns and a major revelation at the climax was just too much. With a run time of 2 hours and 25 minutes, this movie was a torture. I suggest you watch it in passing when it appears on TV.And then the songs of this movie! Totally forgettable, uninteresting and boring to the core. All of them. So much so that every time a song started I wished I could fast forward to get to the end. Except the last song during the credit rolls which was OK. I still don't remember the song but it was peppy. And ya, you also get to see few behind the scenes in the end. That was more interesting than the entire film. With few laugh and just a few interesting moments in the entire movie, this was a complete waste of my time. To recover from the boredom am watching Pyaar Ke Side effects again. Bye.

8 years after PKSE, comes a sequel this time with Farhan AKhtar, Vidya Balan The film is a romcom and does have a few identifiable scenes, the entire marriage and then kids track is well handled though at times scenes do seem a bit stretched, yet the first half is well handled The second half has some unwanted twists which go too long like Vir Das's character, Purab Kohli part seems sketchy, also the maid part is at times hard to digest yet the climax is well handledDirection is decent Music is goodfarhan Akhtar is natural in a role that fits him to the T, Vidya Balan has played a similar role in GHANCHAKKAR though she still does a good job Purab Kohli as I said hardly has a role, Vir Das is funny in his short role, Ram Kapoor is fantastic, It's time he gets meatier roles,Ila Arun is good,Gautami and Rati Agnihotri are apt while the friends are all good.

Yes, I walked out. Think about the top 5 movies you have hated... and wished you never watched them... I have seen them all and never walked out. I'm sure if you were to watch this you would put this on top of your list and it will remain there forever... brainless, tasteless, filled with silly stereotypes. Let's put it this way... the only reason I even registered a new IMDb account is only to write this about the movie. Not for one second in the movie will you feel comfortable or even funny. I can't believe Farhan took this up... I don't care who rates this as even 1 star I totally think its unworthy of even that. So much drama can't happen in one's life especially within 2 hours of us watching their lives. Every scene from every movie in Indian cinema where a husband and wife would have fought for what all reasons has been put into this one movie. How a child brings total chaos to their awesome lives... how they have to mold their lives for the child even the BAI (house help) gets SO much footage. Truly the worst movie I ave ever seen.

An entertaining tale, the story begins with Sid (farhan) and Trisha (vidya) who are happily married and now they become proud parents too. While Trisha gives up her job and focuses on her baby, Sid begins to have tough time trying to strike a balance between his job and his role as a father. For this, he ends up taking the advice from Trisha's brother-in-law (ram kapoor). How things go from there forms the rest. The director has come up with a romantic storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. In terms of performance, Farhan Akhtar was versatile and natural, he did well. Vidya is a realistic performer and she has given an involved performance. Ram Kapoor was fabulous. Gauthami was gorgeous, Vir Das was effective, Ira Arun was impressive, Purab Kohli was apt.The film comes across as a sequel to the movie Pyar Ke Side Effects but of course with a different cast. As the title indicates, it deals with life after marriage and especially after a kid is born. The first half goes about with lighter elements of comedy and romance while the interval bang was interesting. The second half is more towards sentiment but it is also dealt in a lighter vein. Overall, this is a film which offers not only entertainment but a sensible message to new parents. A worth watching flick. 3.5/5*
