Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Save yourself the trouble and enjoy something else, The story the use of props and stunts all seem out of place unfinished or improperly performed. Seems like the producer run out of money and director out of ides and actors out of talent. Worst Amitabh movie i have seen.Film seems to be lacking in every thing, its a movie just for the sake of it

For Bollywood standards Wazir is rather a short film with fewer songs and more gun toting and violent action. It also places an emphasis on chess which means someone is being played.Daanish Ali is an anti terrorism officer whose daughter dies in a shootout when Ali eyes a wanted suspect. However his daughter's death makes him distraught, he splits with his wife and is near suicidal. He comes into contact with Panditji a paralysed chess grandmaster who taught chess to his late daughter. Both form a friendship through mutual grief as Panditji also loss his daughter which he blames on an aspiring political leader, Qureshi. When Panditji is threatened by some cronies of Qureshi, Ali takes it upon himself to exact revenge, only to realise somebody was always a few moves ahead of him. This is a well acted film by Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar, with high production standards and photography, although it is not always consistent and the editing is choppy. The film's twist is rather ludicrous if you think about it.

The movie starts unusually with a song starting with happiness and ending with grief conveying all those which normally takes 30/40 minutes of story telling. Kudos for that and the song was also mesmerizingIts a mystery thriller (not sure how many people can't guess it!!!) involving an old disabled chess teacher who had lost his grown up daughter and grieving officer(who had lost his 7-8 yrs old daughter) and how they come together to overcome it. Hold on, it doesn't mean it's just an emotional drama. The story goes back and forth about the friendship and how their friendship is linked to the main thriller plot. Crisp dialogue, excellent BGM and great cinematography and great performances from Amitabh and Farhan. But somewhere if you can guess the suspense, it becomes predictable and you may lose interest. If you can't, then you will really enjoy the film. )Actually the climax monologue by Amitabh, if had been more effective (like Rajesh Khanna's in Anand) and who else can recreate the magic. An opportunity lost according to me. Nevertheless, it's definitely a one time worth watch given it sticks exactly to the plot and it's just 100 minutes movie without much glamour (which is anyway not necessary). Go for it just for Amitabh and Farhan!!!!

***minor plot points revealed, so spoilers ahead***Wazir is a story of two characters, who suffer at the hands of corruption, terrorism, and all the darkness there is in this mean world. Oppressed by the unjustness of life itself, after losing their daughters, they enter each other's life.Amitabh Bacchan plays the role of a handicapped person who lost his daughter under mysterious circumstances (including the possibility of murder). After Faran Akhtar loses his daughter, he is provided with some respite in Amitabh's company. What starts as chess lessons, develops into a great bond of friendship between the two. Big revelations follow and loads of thrills and drama is delivered as they try to avenge their daughters. Faran Akhtar tries to get back at the people responsible for both the deaths and also tries to get his old happy life back; all the while endangering the life of Amitabh and his own as well. This makes them enter the world of corruption and darkness that they didn't even know existed. In my honest opinion, the best thing about this movie is the choice of its duration. Nothing more, nothing less. Not a single scene felt rushed, or forced. Even the slow-motion scenes that usually get on my nerves were nicely executed and carefully delivered. The story, despite being minutely predictable is great and the actors.. Well I don't need to say it, do I? If you're even remotely familiar with Bollywood, then you know that the cast includes some fine members of the same. Although I didn't expect the usual amount of songs from this movie considering its duration, I didn't mind them. A worth watching flick. If this is the direction Indian cinema is headed into, I'm proud. :)
