Tied for the best movie I have ever seen
Memorable, crazy movie
Disappointment for a huge fan!
Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
My husband was out of town so I had to take my 2, 4, 8, and 10yr old with me to see this show. I was afraid that this show would be too "adult" for it to be any good to my kids but I was pleasantly surprised that my 8 & 10yr old laughing so hard to the point of tears. Of course my 2 younger ones were bored. As for me... I thought the show was hilarious. I'm not big into role play games but even I could appreciate the plot. Definitely will be getting the DVD when it comes out and making my friends and family watch this great and funny show. I recommend this show to everyone who loved shows like Hot Rod and Napolean Dynamite.
Imagine giving a video camera to a bunch of nerds from the Dungeons and Dragons club and having them film their lives. You would think it would be super lame - but you'd be wrong. So FUNNY, really clever and quirky. Some say it is a mixture of Napoleon Dynamite and Monty Python - it's close, but not quite. Laughed out loud through out the whole movie. This movie was great, it was clean, and plain old funny. I have recommended this to everyone I know. Check it out, you wont regret it. Plus, Uncle Rico is in it! I can't believe this was a local movie, on a small budget - they made art. This film will definitely find it's way into my Blu-Ray collection.
When a culture has the ability to make fun of itself while making you care about the characters and what they do in their lives, you have a movie that is going to receive my praise. I don't care if it is the culture of business, rock, or gamer, and good movie spoofing what it is is always welcome. Unicorn City was funny, clever, and well written. I didn't understand the lingo all the time, but didn't have to to get the full effect of the jokes. The Centaur stole the show, but their were plenty of other memorable characters that kept me laughing. Clean, family friendly comedy. I recommend it for all ages, and great to see with a group of friends as you will all be quoting lines from the movie. My hat is off to the Live Action Gaming community, you can make a real funny movie.
This movie was a hit with everyone I know that's seen it. It's a perfect movie for families - not too risqué and has jokes that kids and adults can both appreciate. It's friendly, well-written, honestly laugh-out-loud funny, and you don't even have to know what LARPing is to enjoy the entire movie. The first scene perfectly outlines the characters and sets the stage for the rest of the movie. From the very beginning you know who to be routing for. The acting was top notch considering the actors have little feature film experience (with the exception of Jon Gries). Definitely a movie I would recommend for all ages.
