Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

This isn't brain surgery, but it was really fun to watch with my family on Amazon. We thought the cast was really good and it seems everyone is in this movie. Stupid, silly, clever and laughing out loud a few times. Eva Mendez is great. Scarlett Johannson is really spot on too. The pig is cute and my girls loved the kid playing the smart kid. All and all a really fun movie for a Saturday night at home. A popcorn family movie. This is one we will watch again. The ending looks a little low budget but the rest looks good! What ever happened to Judge Reinhold? My kids wanted to watch it right away, but that's what they like. There's a part in the movie where the main girl changes her approach and my kids really felt good about here from that moment on.

When a mysterious spell transforms a young teenager's bratty little brother into a pig while their parents are on vacation, their only hope for restoring the hoofed youngster back to his human form is to take a trip south of the border in this supernatural comedy for the whole family starring Scarlett Johansson entitled,My Brother The Pig.It co- stars Judge Reinhold, Alex D. Linz and Eva Mendes.A boy named George is magically transformed into a pig. In a dangerous and crazy adventure, the boy, his sister, Kathy, his best friend Freud, and their college housekeeper, Matilda leave for Mexico to try to undo the witchcraft before their parents return from their Paris trip. While gathering ingredients in order for Matilda's grandmother, Berta, to undo the spell, Kathy grows impatient and after insulting both Matilda and Berta, storms off into town, where she befriends two Mexican girls who speak English and have satellite TV. Meanwhile, Freud accidentally loses George to a butcher. With Kathy and her friends, they try to rescue George, in the process of angering the butcher. They are able to get George to Coyote Mountain, under a full moon phase, where a potion has been prepared to return George to normal. Unfortunately, the butcher had followed them, just as the ritual had begun. Matilda and Berta dose the butcher with the potion, turning him into a vulture, while George is restored to normal. This is a funny movie that would make one really laugh. But unfortunately,it is one silly movie for kids and nothing more. The only thing is presents basically is it presents Scarlett Johansson in one of her early roles in her film career.

OK-- so rented this because my son loves pigs and I love Eva Mendes, and I have to tell you I actually enjoyed it with my kids and laughed (out loud) twice and that's a lot for me.This movie is a surprise and a lot better then many films that I've rented with my kids (and I've seen them all). Does anyone know if this was in the theaters--it looks feature budget and score is great.Rent it and be surprised--not you usually stupid family fare. There are some lines that are very adult, but they went over my kids' heads and I laughed out loud. Scarlett Johannssen rocks too in this film and looks amazing!

I rented this from the "family" section of my local video store, and much to my dismay, there was a large amount of foul language coming from the mouth of Scarlett Johansen. Her (and the rest of the cast's) acting was far below her performance in The Horse Whisperer a year prior. The only similarity is that once again she plays a teen with a bad attitude that gets overcome in the end. The plot might have been written by my 2 year old. It became painful to watch after a while, but my kids insisted on watching it to the end (we had to keep saying, "oh that's a bad word!" as the language was inappropriate for the under 13 crowd. Absolutely a waste of a dollar to rent!
