Fishing Naked is a comedy. It is a film about four young adults being bad in the woods. They pull Bigfoot hoaxes, scare tourists, disrespect their elders, hook up and smoke dope. That is until they realize there is an alien creature they have inadvertently put in harms way with all the attention they have been attracting to their rural mountain community. As their relationships fray, they hatch a half-baked plot to pull the biggest hoax yet to right their wrongs by deliberately getting caught in the act.

It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

The title is a clever teaser. It is a head fake, as was much of the film, by design. Amy (Elyse Levesque) fishes topless. Tinsel Korey keeps her clothes on.David (Bronson Pelletier) and Rodney (Evan Williams) fish in the American NW. David is lives with his Native American grandmother (Elaine Miles) who sees green light orbs. As a hobby, the guys don a Big Foot costume and scare tourist, but also attracts media attention and that of the Feds. In the woods, they meet Amy and Jen who join them in their antics. If there is anything as a "B" indie film, this would be it. This is an indie style film, not really aimed at an indie audience. The film attempts to be funny, but has a hard time generating smiles.Guide: Implied sex. Distant nudity with long red hair covering vitals. F-bombs (more than a 3 maximum PG-13 film, but not excessive)

To start, don't expect nudity in this movie. It's a running joke. Not that 2 of the female leads aren't pretty, but that's the norm for many movies of this ilk. What sets this apart is some native American authenticity which somewhat plays into the plot, but the writing is so poor and the dialog so stilted as to lose that part of the plot. animation/CGI is a joke but to be expected for this budget. The two secondary Native American actors, the 'grandma' and 'police chief' are by far the most naturally funny (and with the best lines) that i honestly can say i laughed or chuckled at - and i tend to be a bit jaded. The FBI agents, the corporate guy, the pseudo photographer are painful and one-dimensional stereotypes, which help make this a grade C film.Sadly, it has possibilities. I wish the writer/director/editor had managed to find someone to double check their script and give the actors better lines. It's hard to tell if the acting was just poor or the script just made them look bad.All that said, I did not stop watching. I even enjoyed parts of it but suffered a bit from high expectations. Read this review, and a few of the other negative ones and then watch it. You might be surprised to also give it a "C". In summation, fun idea, a few good actors, a lot of bad actors, terrible script, cheap CGI, nice location, some authenticism.

I watched this film with my family. My grandma laughed, my sister laughed, my mom laugh. This comedy reached a multi-generational audience. It's a cute film, with of course some hiccups, but that's to be expected when trying to do a film of this scale with an independent budget. With that being said, the cinematography was beautiful. You could tell the director spent a lot of money trying to give it a big budget feel. The acting was all great. Was especially surprised with some of the minor characters. My favorite scenes were with Grandma and Art, they brought a subtle realism to the movie. I'd say this film is like "Roger Rabbit meets Dude where's my Car meets Smoke Signals"If you're looking for a lighthearted film, that has heart, silly humor, and mischief; then go watch this film. If you're going to dissect every bit of it, be disappointed that there wasn't anyone actually naked, and watch it like it should be nominated for the Oscars; then I would say find a different film to watch. All in all for an independent comedy/romance, the filmmakers did a good job and I look forward to seeing what they can do in the future.

I was hoping to watch a funny movie. But it isn't a good comedy, more a tragedy. There are some porn movies with a better script. At least there's nudity in those movies. While watching this train wreck, I was curious how bad the reviews would be. To my surprise I saw it was rated very high by a few. Not sure what is up with that.Script 1 out of 10; Acting: 1 our of 10; Laughs: 1 out of 10; Eye Candy: 2 out of 10.To bad, I want to enjoy low budget films for what they are, but there is no payoff.
