This Movie by today's standards would be an instant Failure!!! However, keep in mind it was released in 1981. If you can do that, you will find it just Silly and flat out funny. Mainly, it's funny because of how silly it is. You'll find the Humor. It won't take long.

After a rash of deranged murders, a group of high school students is determined to solve the identity of the psychotic killer terrorizing them and set out to stop him before he is able to ruin the upcoming school dance that is endangered of being canceled. This was quite possibly the greatest slasher-comedy in the genre. The main factor for this one is the rather typical and formulaic approach to the genre where it's just intent on skewering the conventions and playing everything up for laughs that it is literally impossible to stop laughing at this. These scenes are handled with great skill at poking fun here, lampooning conventions like the opening attacks on the couple attempting to sleep together in the house which features all sorts of wacky sight-gags spoofing similar scenes in various other slashers from the time such as the excessively heavy breathing over the phone, the fun with the boyfriend getting ready for the whole situation rather than the girlfriend and the overall fun killing methods that provide truly hilarious spoofs of the genre. That carries on through the other encounters here, ranging from the scene at the funeral that shows the killer striking the requisite horny teens for his rampage to the bleacher ambush and the parade float death that are a great deal of fun for how against the grain they are from normal slasher scenarios. That is how this one works so well, bringing a strong portrayal of basic slasher tropes being twisted around into these absurd tales which are quite the sendup of these scenes being mixed with the other slapstick articles in here. Featuring scenes of the goofy janitor walking around with the blow-up doll, the antics of the vendors at the stadium during the game and the numerous over- the-top sound effects employed which give this one such a goofy and silly approach that gives this one an impressive feel. These here are what make this one of the best of the slasher spoofs, there are a few minor issues. The film's biggest problem is the last half which is quite at odds with the vast majority of what came before it. The fact that this one drops a lot of these slasher tropes for a rather out-of-place second half that makes no real connection to the type of film it had been previously with the full reveal of both the killer and their motivation for killing is simply lame and doesn't make any sense, nor does the reason for including the finale in the hospital that really sticks out for being highly and insanely stupid for the clichés of the genre it's poking fun at gives this one a noticeably convoluted finale. Sure, it's cheesy and stupid, and as a horror film it utterly fails since it's not going to scare anyone, but as a comedy, this one is nearly flawless which is what gives this one so much to really like.Rated R: Violence, Nudity and Language.

Let's get something straight: This movie is ridiculous. That being said, it's pure genius. This movie mocks the horror films of the late 70's and early 80's. Those movies were based on teens drinking and having sex before getting killed by the bad guy. Think: Blood Beach, Prom Night, Friday the 13th, Halloween. That's the entire plot of this movie. Teens, despite being at a funeral, parade, football game, etc., sneak away to engage in intercourse before meeting their demise. The movie mocks the silly actions of your horror movie victims who often leave doors unlocked and ignore basic safety measures which lead to their demise. While some call the script weak, I call it witty and amusing. The more you watch Student Bodies the more you'll appreciate the dialogue and the acting itself. The killer is known as "The Breather". He or she employs unorthodox methods of murder including, but not limited to, death by eggplant. The protagonist, a prude named Toby (Kristen Riter), lectures her friends on the dangers of having sex. Toby ultimately ends up on crime scenes and becomes a suspect herself. Riter who later starred in a music video is attractive and believable in the role despite playing the prude. The rest of the cast does a nice job in their roles. Patrick Varnell aka "The Stick" was masterful as "Mr Malvert". Sara Eckhardt portrays Patty the Prom Queen in convincing manner. Eckhardt, from Austin, Texas, would eventually end up on the bench as a Travis County judge. Mr. Dumpkin, portrayed by veteran actor Joe Flood, is the shop teacher addicted to making horsehead bookends. Some of the scenes and lines are politically incorrect in this current climate but are funny nonetheless. Give this movie a try. It's better than any of the "Scary Movie" installments. It's an easy watch and it's quite addicting.10/10
