Robotropolis (2011)

Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.

Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

People are voting emotionally.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

For those Netflix subscribers with a Sci-Fi bent and time on a weekend go ahead and watch this movie. It has nothing to do with the first scene. Though the first scene does have a cool intro. The idea is Terminator meets Asimov, but it takes an unfortunate turn by bringing in the Heinlein theme of overzealous media. In my personal opinion you cannot top the "Do you want to know more?" line. An obvious rip off of I, Robot and The Blair Witch Project, with even worse shaky camera, this piece of trash reminded me of why there are no longer any drive-in movie theaters. This is a classic example of how the powers that be in Hollywood will try ANYTHING to make a buck. If they thought they could make money off a paper cut, they'd try it. The fact that it is only 80 minutes long is a clear indicator that it was A: a rock bottom script with not much potential to make it even that long, and B: on a shoestring budget. I seriously doubt this film made back the money it cost to shoot it. Easily among the worst movies of the past 25 years, and a prime example of how CGI cheapens movies. If you want to see bad CGI, rent a video game. It would be far more entertaining than this garbage.

"contains spoilers" The acting is the worst i have ever seen, Zoe Naylor is by far the worst, she needs to give up acting all together!!!. She shows no emotion when the guy on the football field gets shot. Also the footballers are terrible actors they just walk away, surely you would go see if he's alive, right?The script is terrible, when the footballer gets shot, Zoe's character stands there and says stuff like "someone has just been shot". I was watching it thinking THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS -.-The scenery in this movie is great, i really enjoyed it. The robots are OK, they could have added a bit more animation to them though. The explosion effects are OKThis film is very boring at the beginning but about 35 minutes through it starts to pick up. Still i would not recommend the movie.

Easily one of the worst films made in the last decade. If you're able to get past the first 20 minutes of awful acting, you were probably high, drunk or both. I understand this is supposed to be a sci-fi film, but at the very least inject some touches of reality - which this film failed to do. (partial scene spoiler coming up)I mean honestly, a robot playing soccer gets scolded and head-butt by a human, and the robot shoots him dead. This is all captured live during a broadcast about the robots interacting with humans. Not only do his friends run off, but no one bothers to call the ambulance. When the dead guys friends do come back, instead of calling for help, they start chanting "Nobot! Nobot".Really.After that poor excuse for a scene in a movie, I just stopped watching. Avoid this garbage.
