This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

With a poll coming up on IMDbs Classic Film board for the best titles of 1984,I started to look at a mountain of DVDs,and spotted a fun looking movie directed by Lamberto Bava, which led to me getting ready to blast all the fighters away. The plot:Released from jail after serving 7 years for murdering the man who killed his wife, former police officer Jake 'Tiger' Sharp decides to head back to his quiet country town. Planning to spend the rest of his life living in solitude in the woodland area,Sharp is horrified to spot a group of residences from the town brutally killing a deer.Confronting the gang,Sharp is told that the town has changed, and that he should mind his own business,or else there will be some "trouble." Keeping a close watch on the gang,Sharp discovers that the gang are involved in a ring which kills animals for Oriental medicines. Sickened by what the town has become,Sharp decides that he must take on the gang.View on the film:Replacing original director Lucio Fulci,co-writer/(along with Luca De Rita/Massimo De Rita/Morando Morandini Jr & Dardano Sacchetti) director Lamberto Bava delivers a deliciously bonkers Action smash- up.Backed by a catchy 80s Pop soundtrack,Bava gives the outdoor fights a lush appearance as logic gets left by the side road.Destroying everything in sight,Bava hilariously shows cars suddenly exploding from out of thin air,and has Sharp shoot bullets from the medium size gun which are the size of fireworks!Planned at first as a remake of Mad Max,the frantic changes that the writers made to the screenplay lead to this being an explosive flick.Whilst the writers do not go into too much detail on Sharp's past, (with the exception of a short flashback, which allows Bava to rift on Dario Argento's Deep Red) they do very well at adding additional pressure on his current situation, with a sharp twist leading to the ending having a gritty revenge atmosphere.Teaming up twice with Bava in 1984, Michael Sopkiw gives a wonderful performance as Sharp, with Sopkiw giving Sharp a real curl of the lips,as he finds himself taking on a truck load of baddies.Final view on the film:A delightfully bonkers flick that is a real blast.

How many movies were inspired by the horror classic "the most dangerous game" ?Even such recent works as Gibson's "Apocalypto" were . This one is not worse than the others ,and if the two leads had shown more emotion ,had they "played" ,it could have been even endearing. As an action movie ,it's moderately entertaining ,with a hackneyed screenplay -just one thing "happens" which would not generally happen in this kind of superman flick-And it's after "it " happens that the movie has nothing more in store for the viewer.Well filmed in nice landscapes which recall " Deliverance" another movie "blastfighter" borrows from. And the same horrible cliché that claims that country people are savage uneducated brutes.

This has got to be one of the best bad films i have ever seen. The plot is atrocious. It starts of with an ex cop out to avenge the murders of his wife. he meets an old buddy from the force who gives him... BLASTFIGHTER.. the gun with a million different uses...spray of darts armour piercing explosive tips etc.. etc The hero gets into position to kill the crooked lawyer who got his wife's killer off, he has him in his sights but doesn't shoot. Instead he drives off into a cabin in the hills to think things over, the film doesn't return to this incident it just sort of forgets all about the need for vengeance and turns into a deliverance meets Rambo type hodge podge. In the end he kills about 30 or 40 redneck hunter types because one of them killed a little dear he saved when they killed the dears mother, oh and i think they might have killed his best friend raped his daughter and killed her boyfriend though i can't really remember. He drives into the town at then end in his pick up with all the dead bodies in the back and a whole lot of explaining to the authorities...this was the days of Rambo and death wish where multiple homicides were common place and he probably got let off with a fine..I bought this movie for 50p years ago at a video clear-out store and used to watch at all the time,it had a cult following amongst me and my friends until the tape nipped and we ceremoniously burned it.

Next to DEMONS this is probably director Lamberto Bava's best film. Having just been released from prison for a crime he didn't commit, leading man Michael Sopkiw just wants peace and quiet in the wilderness. But wouldn't you know it, as soon as he pulls into the town trouble arises in the forms of lowlifes with manners and tact all but absent. They give Michael static and while he tries not to fight back you just know that something is going to make him snap and get even with these small town hooligans and their sadistic ways.(Check out Michael's super tricked out futuristic(?) rifle. This is just a very entertaining film to watch, especially with friends. The soundtrack is amazing as well containing a driving instrumental and a warbles country & western tune.
