Purely Joyful Movie!
It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Part musical, part love story, part family melodrama, part inspirational treacle, Tyler Perry's latest movie, I Can Do Bad All by Myself is something of an unholy mess. Alternately stupefying and entertaining, the film does benefit from a strong cast. I love this movie. The laughs, meanwhile, are delivered by cross-dressing Perry's sassy grandma Madea, whose wild threats of violence to children and adults alike are the only things that sporadically lighten up this narratively and grammatically dim redemption pap.The critics have done it AGAIN! They have underrated another GREAT Perry film! This movie's too good to get such a low score. People who rated this movie low are just JEALOUS just like spike lee is because Tyler Perry makes GREAT films. REMEMBER.....jealousy is a sin!!!!.....
I don't understand how this movie is only three stars. This is by far my favorite Tyler Perry movie. The jokes are all laugh out loud funny. One thing that stood out compared to the other Madea movies is that the storyline was cohesive and nit have one scent that throws the audience off a bit. The music was not just a long number added into the movie, but it was catchy. The real life situations get me drawn in to hoping for the characters that have nothing. I will watch it and watch it again without being bored or uninterested. If Tyler Perry kept his real life story lines with lots of emotion I would have kept going to watch it in theaters.
I don't have any idea why so many people don't like his movies. After seeing how much of a success they are in the box office I don't understand how they can get so low after that. Well now I'm giving it my review and in a word the movie is great. In this new installment of Tyler Perry's film making career we see how Madea meets these kids who breaks into her house and now must take them to their aunt April who is an alcoholic singer at a night club (I know, there's a problem with that alone). So when Madea takes these kids over to their aunts place things start changing. The pastor at the church in April's neighborhood sends an immigrant to live with her in exchange for fixing up her place. Thanks to all of these people who surround themselves around her, April starts to realize that there is more to life than sleeping and drinking. She might even realize that her life is worth living. This is probably one Tyler Perry's best films. It has great music, nice comedy, and entertaining drama. Definitely a great film to watch anytime and anywhere.
Yes, Madea is in the film. Along with her version of wisdom and the Bible in plain language. I can always count on Tyler Perry to provide me with entertainment, great casts, incredible story lines, self empowerment, humor and another life lesson. Parents take your children to see this film. Be prepared to talk about the content afterward. If you don't Madea may come knocking your door down. This film like the other Tyler Perry productions leaves better than you were before. He gives you something to think and about and always transcends the demarcation set by society. Things that happen in the movie such as Grandma Rose's situation, really happen every day to people you know. No one cares enough to ask questions and get involved because it's not their business and they wouldn't want someone in their business. The lesson, it is our business, it is our responsibility and if folks don't like it, tell them to take it up with Madea. I can hardly wait for the next TP Production.
