That was an excellent one.

It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

Anyone who leaves a bad review for this movie is just... what? It's not the best move ever by any means. You may read that's its silly, ridiculous and stupid or whatever else, but this movie isn't meant to be serious. That's the point, it knows that it's ridiculous. It's far better than people make it out to be. I mean, (spoiler) Steve Martin dancing with a trans woman because he runs a suicide hotline, Adam Sandler just showing up with a ukulele, hiding a dead body in a Christmas tree. It's funnt because it's ridiculous, not everything has to be witty humor.

This amazing cast came together on Christmas Eve to make the worst movie of all time. The employees of a suicide hotline are in worse trouble than their callers. You're better off not calling Lifesavers. They give bad advice, tell you their problems, hang up on you, walk out and leave the phones unattended, and sometimes a complete stranger wanders in and answers the phone. They kill their landlord, but instead of getting into trouble, get rewarded because he turns out to be a serial killer. Lewis' character starts jumping up and down, and of course, that makes her water break. She literally has the baby 2 minutes later. And when the employees of Lifesavers get depressed, they cheer themselves up by having sex.

This movie holds up really really well to repeated viewing. We have watched it every Christmas Eve for about 10 years and the whole family knows most of it by heart. It's funnier every time. With its large cast of wacky characters who make the story unfold like a pinball game, it has a lot in common with "You Can't Take It With You", another family favorite. I simply can't understand why it is so little known: it's a classic screwball comedy, with hilarious ensemble work by some of our greatest comic actors. Madeline Kahn's performance alone should put "Mixed Nuts" in every comedy lover's DVD library, since her untimely death so cruelly limited her wonderful body of work. She's at her absolute best here. Some of the actors were at a relatively early stage in their careers when this was made, and it is a testament to the judgment of the casting director that they were chosen."Mixed Nuts" introduced our family to Liev Schreiber, who plays a gloriously funny role that, taken with the work he's better known for, illustrates marvelous range. It's surprising to me that, as a big fan of snowy, wintry Christmases, my favorite Christmas movie is set in sunny L.A. But that is part of its charm: it is a story that gets its power from the interplay of innocence and irony. And the winner is: the audience.

Is this the worst comedy film Steve Martin ever starred in? I think so. At least I thought so when I saw it a dozen years ago. I hope he hasn't done anything worse since this film. It would have to be brutal because this "comedy" was anything but humorous. It was disappointing to me because I am a fan of Martin's comedic talents and I usually enjoy the acting talents of Madeline Kahn and Juliette Lewis, as well as a few other supporting actors in here However, this script is pure garbage. In retrospect, now that I see that it is a Nora Ephron film, I'm not shocked how horrible this turned out. At least I have a lot of company in my opinion of how bad this film stinks.
