Disclaimer: I like bad horror/thriller movies and watch them in my spare time. Although I may be a harsh critic sometimes, I still respect the creators of the film for taking the time, effort and money to make art. If you could call it that. I base my score of the film by asking myself, "How many times would I rewatch this, if any at all?" A 1 signifies I would never rewatch it. A 2 signifies I might watch it once more, and so forth. Fear Inc. What I Liked: Abigail Breslin Cameo I guess I like the main guy's girlfriend's outfits. I liked the song choice and shot of the main guy walking out of the desert. The ending was probably the best part of the movie. Best part was when Joe died. What I didn't like: Discount Owen Wilson The Bane scene. Ugh. Actually, all of the horrible charades stuff. Way too many jump scares. Vomit scene wasn't funny. When will directors realize no one likes vomit scenes? Tries waaay too hard to be funny. The guy friend actor is horrible. Smirking while saying lines that are supposed to be serious. Main character is super unlikeable. Scratch what I said earlier about the guy friend. All the actors are terrible. Ok, the girlfriend of the main character is kinda decent. I'm 40 minutes into the movie right now, and I want to turn the movie off and take a nap this is so horrible. The jokes are some of the worst jokes I've ever seen in a movie. A one handed standing choke is one of the least effective chokes, dumb to use that in a "fight" scene. The Freddy sweater is so tacky. The camera work is really bad. The main character's acting is so bad. It's so bad it sounds like when actors play bad actors.

The only way this SCREAM-fest could've been more meta is if, on Friday THE 13th, I SAW this movie about a HOSTEL on ELM STREET that took place during HALLOWEEN. So. Who's GAME?Okay, a few of those are true, some aren't, and to figure out which is all part of the game…to beat the dead horror analogy. The movie's much better than I'm leading on. Some scenes, unbelievably for me, actually did make me jump and it doesn't just resemble the fantastic movie, The Game, it's a nice companion piece. It's a much lighter, quicker and less thought-provoking version. Like if you're in a hurry, want more horror than suspense and want to leave your brain at the door.Incredible douchebag Joe wants to up the ante of frights while simultaneously freeloading and hosting his friends. He calls an agency of Fear to set in motion a game to feed upon his love of slasher/horror movies. Only, is it a game? Or is everyone in on it?Personally, I'm with Joe. Well, the horror-loving, slasher-obsessed fan part, anyways. I grew up with and practically memorized all of Jason's kills, Freddy's incarnations and Michael's stalking. But, unlike Joe, I doubt, as I am much older now than when I became infatuated with these screen legends, I would want to *live* out a slasher night. It's fun to see it on screen and know it's not real – plus the never-ending nostalgia of it all – but it would be heart-attack-inducing to carry it to fruition. This film's not perfect, some of it's completely far-fetched and implausible and it's so caught up on the "is it/isn't it real?" bit that it's more gimmick than suspenseful. But, that all said, I had fun and it was one of those rare movies that the second half is ten times better than the first half.If you love the subgenre of slasher horror and the Michael Douglas/David Fincher classic, The Game, as much as I do, you'll probably want to give Fear, Inc. a call. Or watch. ***Final thoughts: Like I said, the second half's better than the first, but make sure you stick with it. Sometimes, it tried so hard to be tongue-in-cheek and make references to other horror movies that it felt like it was trying to be shrewder than it was. This was NO 'Scream.' And it was trying so hard to cram in as many references as possible by merely mentioning them, I could never tell if this was meant to be a comedy. Luckily…the second half took over and the movie really takes off then.

A new take on on the old classic Aprils Fool. With a twist tho... I don't understand the people complaining about this film. The actors were new to me except the redhead(Forgot his Name) And Abigail is always a treat. Starts off quite well and pulls you in. Just my opinion though but I really enjoyed it. Like a lot of people here say, It was fresh and a breather from the standard horror that comes out these days. 2 thumbs up. The main actor who I have never seen or even heard of annoyed me in the beginning. But his acting in this type of movie was very well done in my opinion. The ending was unexpected even for me who expected the worst. Watch it!

The main crux of the movie is to keep the viewer in suspense as to whether or not events are truly happening or if this is part of the game. To that extent the movie works. There is just enough gore to class this as a horror and is centered around an avid fan of the genre, even having him wearing a Freddie Kruger inspired pullover, but I felt this is first and foremost a basic thriller with whatever humour/humor here being lost on me. Maybe it's hipster humour but didn't find it anywhere funny enough to be considered comedy.Acting was OK for the uncomplicated characters as was the cinematic experience passable for the small stage-sets. All in all I did not find it as awful as some/many other reviews here but as I said earlier i saw this more as a thriller than anything else, with the suspense coming from the thought as to is this part of an act or really happening. The worst to say was that the first 30-40 minutes could have been condensed to ten.
