A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

You know what? This is legitimately a funny film, in an offbeat kind of way. The movie is really ahead of its time. I found out about it because it has a little cult following. I was told to go into it knowing nothing and avoid the trailer at any cost because it spoils the best jokes. Not that you have to worry about running into a trailer for a 10 year old film.

This is a frustrating movie. That's because the idea for "Mystery Team" is great--three junior crime fighters (much like Encyclopedia Brown or the Hardy Boys) are getting a bit too old for such childish adventures. But, the film often delves into VERY adult territory--material that is bound to unnecessarily alienate and offend many.The film begins with three VERY nerdy friends talking about, what else, solving crimes. However, there really are no mysteries about--and they mostly just harass a poor neighbor on life support. At school, the three are either ignored or beaten up, as they don't even come close to fitting in with other high school seniors. However, eventually one of their totally unimportant mysteries actually leads to a very serious and deadly crime...MURDER! Along the way, they visit strip joints, go to wild parties and nearly get themselves killed--which is very tough for three guys who make Steve Urkel and Screech look like a sophisticated men of the world! The film has many funny moments and I loved the idea of 18 year-olds who act like precious 10 year-olds from 1960. The fish out of water aspect is very enjoyable. But, again and again, the film chooses jokes about erections, nudity, bestiality and other stuff that becomes tiresome. It's a shame, as a more literate script would have made a TERRIFIC film. As is, it's a guilty pleasure you should watch well after you put your kids to bed!! a bit crude sort of like Encyclopedia Brown

*Contains Spoilers*When one hears of a film with completely unrecognizable actors and an unreasonable plot, we usually tend to ignore the project. But this had something different to offer.Basically it is a story very similar to the scooby-doo cartoons (not the film). There are 3 nerdy looking guys who vow to solve any mystery that comes their way. Their projects are very silly and childish and their tip is usually from an even dumber member of the cast.Their mundane lifestyle is changed with a murder taking place in the neighbourhood. It allows them to go on a "scintillating" adventure which ultimately ends with the perpetrators getting caught in what can only be described as a weird circumstance.This is very much an episode of Scoobe-Doo without the ghosts and Scooby. It manages to capture the aura of the cartoon with the quirky laughters and the paradox involved (something the scooby doo movie failed to do I must add) and perhaps that is what elevated this from an average to a step higher.Verdict: Will make you go back to days of Scooby and the mystery machine and must be watched if one wants to go there.

Totally waste of time to watch this movie, the only reason I registered at IMDb was to made this post. I would kill the director of this movie with my bare hands if I could reach him. Who is the audience of this movie ? even a 15 year old kid will get bored by watching this, although from the language and sexual scenes in the movie its aiming for adults I hope, the story of the movie cant hold a 10 YEARS old kid to watch it,there is NO single point in this movie that is going to tell something to anyone, from the beginning and till the end of this movie I couldn't even SMILE. I'm not judjing anyone's opinion about this movie, but to be honest, expect more from movies, so they hopefully will improve their further works. But seriously the cast of this movie should be ASHAMED and Embarrassed for what they created, the only thing I would like to tell them is " I hope you all freaking die somehow for this piece of crap."
