Overrated and overhyped

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.

Rival runners are sent to war as punishment for rioting. This film was sensational! The battle scenes are remarkable, very realistic and the photography is amazing. Japanese and Koreans are fighting together against Russians, although they hate each other. Needless to say, there's a lot of tension between the characters. The character development was really great, as the men obtained status during their time in war. This was one of the most stunning war epics I've ever had the pleasure of watching. The cinematography, the mere scale of the entire production, the music, the battle scenes - everything was just brilliant. Completely and utterly stunning! Very unpredictable ending, as well.

Epic story of a pair of rival soldiers making it through world war two, slaving for several armies. Stupendous recreations of war combat, sometimes surreal. This film is catering to the boy in us that has no fear and wants all sorts of adventures. Many events of the film seems exagerated a notch but I can't hold it against it because the truth is often incredible. We do feel the passion and adventure and I applaud the film makers for this different view point. Great film.

Movie: My Way (15)Rating: 5/5This film is seriously the most underrated South Korean film I've come across till now. There were reviews which criticized the film, but I went on to watch the film, as it also had a high IMDb rating and great reviews from audiences. I was totally lost in the film and got so immersed in it, that for a moment I felt like I was a part of the story. Seriously, MY WAY is the best war-action film I've come across till date. The technical aspects of the film are definitely mindblowing, but it's a tight scripting, intense emotions and powerhouse performances that make this film the best of its kind. The action sequences are mindblowing of course, and the way the combination of an excellent cinematography and breathtaking visuals has supported them is a treat to watch. The story is quite an excellent one, and I must say this film never bored me for a single second. Jang Dong-gun is excellent as he is in most of his films. Joe Odagiri too delivers an intense performance and it's difficult to choose who performs better among the two.Rest of the cast delivers memorable performances. The film is very well written and there aren't any noticeable flaws you'll be able to find. The climax is brilliant, and I felt various types of emotions while watching the film: sadness, happiness, anger. The film, in simple words, is one of the most powerful South Korean films in the recent years. MY WAY is a film you won't be able to forget once you have finished watching it. You'll miss it, and that's definitely a good sign.

The plot of this is quite childish and straightforward - you can guess how the story will be developed quite easy. Everything in film is exaggerated- feelings, personal emotions, cruelty, explosions. Of course it's impossible to speak about historical truth through the film's prism - it's all complete mess. There are multiple mistakes with geography, wear, usage of alphabet and so on. But it's even worse - this film leaves an impression, that the most humanistic combatants were Nazis. Two main heroes spent pleasant time in German Army with maximum comfort and most humanistic relationships between soldiers. My conclusion: it's quite weak compilation of clichės with a lot of factual errors and wrong misinterpretation of historical facts. Save your time, money and most important your brains from this rubbish stuff.
