Peter and Carla, a couple whose marriage is faltering, decide to go on a camping weekend. When they become lost, the pair sets up camp on a remote beach that doesn't seem to be on any map. At first the trip is the romantic getaway they imagined – then slowly things begin to go wrong. After Peter disrespects the unspoiled habitat, it seems as if the surroundings are exacting revenge on the couple, as insects, animals, and then nature itself become the enemy.

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

The movie was so boring, I couldn't even laugh at how bad it was. Long Weekend constantly made me try to care about the relationship of the two main characters but failed at it terribly. Acting was fine scenery was fine that's about it. Not much happened in the movie expect for the couple fighting and the main character Peter keep being a dick to the nature and the movie doesn't explain itself and just gives the "that's what happens when you mess with Mother Nature!" Felt pretty dissapointed sorry.

I liked the scenery and the dog Cricket. And the brief scene when Caviezel strummed his guitar. That's it. For nearly the entire film I'm stuck camping with two unsavory characters. Peter (Caviezel) and Marcia (Karvan) are careless and criminally stupid, stuck in a poisonous marriage. They deserve each other. Peter is particularly careless of nature, but hardly deserving of the horrors that befell him. The script gave these two gifted actors very little to work with, and that's a shame, given that they are center stage for the entire film. The plot is basic and the message even more simplistic: Don't mess with Mother Nature. The tone is just depressing. Lots of bickering, name calling, swearing including F-bombs, some sex and masturbation. It felt monotonous. Not scary in an exciting way. When dead bodies start showing up in the water and on the land, does it draw the couple closer together, for survival? Do they stop fighting long enough to think? Does anything change???The manatee was interesting but it needed more explanation.

As a force, Nature in its collective can be Super-Nature(al). A power that is paranormal and beyond the laws of physics. This can explain the strange happenings in this edgy film that is good enough to recommend to those not expecting another gore/splatter/torture "horror" film. This one lies somewhere between the crevasses of suspense and thriller. It is all done with two characters and some imagination. The fact that both of them have committed crimes against nature, he the environment, and her the abortion, are the reason for their extermination.A respectable indie movie that relies on tension of behavior and situation for the shocks and does so with not much style but a patina of the natural. A solid, satisfying story that is disturbing with a message. Bad behavior has bad consequences. Pure and simple as a sunset.

I just got done watching "Nature's grave" and just HAD to review it. It was 90 minutes of laughing, crying, pondering the meaning of life itself. No...just laughing. This nagging, bickering couple gets attacked by everything from ants to eagles, from snakes to sea-cows. And because the two main characters are so thoroughly dislike-able, nature's assaults on them will make you giggle and grin with fiendish delight as they get what's coming to them. Add in the stale dialog that would make the Pope weep, and the films low budget feel, this one has immense value as an UNINTENTIONAL COMEDY. The final scene was worthy of "Roadkill of The Year", as the beef was flying! (You'll be certain to replay that scene at least a couple of times.) All of that being said, there were some great performances put on by several animal actors in this one. The animal actors should've gotten higher billing than the humans that were involved in this three-ring circus.
