Set in the not so distant future, in Any Town USA, sixteen-years-old Herman Howards makes a fateful decision. He enters his suburban school and kills thirty nine students, two teachers, and a police officer. Just before his arrest, he emails his idol, famous journalist Lax Morales, sending him clips of the shootings captured with Herman's own digital camera. In the clips Herman tells Lax, "I want to tell my story on your show". Lax, haunted by his own past, is now face to face with Herman.

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

I really liked this film. It had it's issues...the name pun Lax Morales for one, and the really cool looking kid who would probably NEVER have been picked on in school for another....but it handled the subject with complexity and real class, passing on gratuitous gore and violence thank you very much, and pointing out just how much at fault everyone involved really was, up to and very much including the media circus that reduced it to "an event".Doubtless it will not appeal to those who want action, blood, violence, and assorted other R rated movie shenanigans, but for someone who just likes an intelligently done movie that handles a touchy subject with some delicacy, it'll be a find.I liked it.

The idea of the movie was great, more of it too. But emoitons are like drained, they are gone. Mother who losing her son don't just cry, she is completely destroyed by grief. On top of it - nobody should let an execution of non adult kid to be showed on television. The end was ridiculous too - he just continued his show like nothing happened. There were nasty scenes with the "negar" kid, and nobody said how he made it and escaped from that group, Lax I mean. Not good enough for me. Norman's playing was absolutely professional as always, and his character was more convincing than Herman's one. That offset the viewer's attention from the real problem. Great idea, bad performance, that's what I have to say. I couldn't feel the emotions of that drama, I couldn't see it from the deviations. You have no more than five from me. And it's too much.

This was my 2nd time watching "Hello Herman" and compared to all those entertaining blockbusters, I'm glad to see a movie like this being made. It proves to be educational and gives us a profound reflection. Through Herman, I can see the bullying victims' situation and feel sorry for them. Those kids shouldn't be treated like that and Herman made it known that we're the same; human beings need to be treated the same and need love. I feel sorry for those kids and wish they could stand up for themselves. This movie draws our attention to those troubled kids at school, and makes us think about what contributes to those kids' actions and what we can do to help them. As for Herman, I feel sorry that he is always being picked on and bullied by other students, which makes his insanity more understandable. However, I'm angry that he doesn't know how to stand up for himself. He allows himself to become addicted to games and doesn't even know what to do when his sister gets an accident.Sometimes people blame the family or the mother for being too busy. I always doubt that and think it's an excuse for not being responsible for themselves. There are divorced families everywhere and parents need to make a living for the family. Kids from those families should be more responsible and act like an adult. Our society does need to pay attention to those kids, help them understand their situation, and lead them to the right direction. Maybe Herman will get society's attention now and make our society take actions to prevent more tragedies.

Hello Herman is a must watch movie for not only entertaining purposes but also for the message that it portrays. Garrett Backstrom (Herman) plays the main character as a bullied high school student, along with Norman Reedus (Lax) who has his own internet show. This movie not only entertains you from the start until the end but also teaches a valuable lesson for those who have been bullied, those who are bullies or know someone that has been bullied. Personally this film really allowed me to think about all the drama that occurs in a high school. Although it is outrageous to go on a massacre for being picked on, it is something that is possible in our society.Overall this movie can teach viewers a very important lesson; treat others the same way you would want them to treat you. Highly recommended for all types of audiences.
