Them (2007)

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

The best thing about the movie is it's just over one hour so u wont feel u ruined ur time if u don't like it. The filmmakers did a good job of filling it with tension and suspense. I feel like it had a lot of potential of becoming a great film the way everything was executed but the lack of story cut its feet off pretty significantly. I would say it's more suitable as a short than a movie because of absence of so many thrilling components. It's not really scary so adding the tag "based on real events" does next to nothing. There are much better movies based on similar premise but if u have exhausted that list like me then u can definitely give this a watch. The verdict: 6/10 It's a good short , maintains suspense throughout but it fails to deliver much on that suspense and lacks a lot in story and sound that could have made this a much better movie.

(Credit to IMDb) Lucas and Clementine live peacefully in their isolated country house, but one night they wake up to strange noise... they're not alone... and a group of hooded assailants begin to terrorize them throughout the night.This movie has plenty of creepy moments, I won't deny that. It's extremely well-acted, suspenseful, well-direction, and filled with tension. Despite all that it has going for it, I felt something was missing. Maybe it was all the hype it got from horror fans and I expected much more. Either way, I was slightly disappointed. Don't expect much gore in this one. This movie isn't about that. It's pretty old-fashioned, relying on storytelling and suspense. The two movies get compared a lot, so I may as well compliment on that. I felt The Strangers did a better job with thrills and overall. The Strangers truly scared me! This one most certainly kept me on the edge of my seat, but I wasn't truly scared. I didn't care for the ending either. Credit to Olivia Bonamy & Michaël Cohen for being likable leads that I was able to root for. I did LIKE this movie, but I didn't love it. I don't think it's as good as everyone says it is. If you ignore the hype, you should get a suspenseful horror movie. That's what it is! nothing more. That's far from being a bad thing. 6.6/10

****MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**** First of all, I've been sold the idea that this title is part of an acclaimed successful french horror hit series along with Martyrs and High Tension. It is not so. It is very far from these two in both value and theme. I can barely spot the "horror" element, but I can see why many thriller fans would like it... but to put this on the same level as Martyrs... is deceiving to say the least.Thriller fans should give this a go but without expecting a whole lot. It is supposedly based on true events but as a local who knows the area pretty well I can vouch that such a thing never happened there. If 4 people would have been murdered there by a gang of teens I would have definitely got wind of it. Furthermore, its not some backward remote village, but rather a nature retreat for many rich local oligarchs. A school teacher and a would-be writer would likely not be able to afford living there, even in a derelict villa like the one shown in the movie.

This was re-watch, I wasn't to keen on first time around, I think I did see Vacnacy before this and Eden lake both - with both of these movies were kind put together in way.Again I felt the same with this movie, I thought it started of tense at first and theit's stays on the same level for most of the movie, it never fully moves forward and I wasn't bored with it. I thought it had noting to hold and I am not sure if were meant to shock and when it's revealed what was doing the stalking. I wasn't shocked, I Know kids have been nasty but I do believe these think can happen, like some kids brought whole of UK to standstill few years back in riots, with a loss of two lives.There were something missing in this movie, there was edge enough, the trailer seem a lot edge of seat kind of thing. I thought the acting was really good not great and I do think some of subs were bit off, on what was playing on screen. I going give this 5 out of 10,.
