n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.

Amateur, stilted, uninspired acting, boring dialogue, heavy-handed use of close-ups, bad lighting, inconsistent sound, muted color alternating with too-vivid color, and excruciatingly slow story development are just the first five minutes. The lack of any connection between the overwrought music and the action (actually the total lack of action) on the screen is confusing to the point of being aggravating. The characters are not developed and remain two-dimensional. The language is anachronistic, and the director seems to have instructed everyone in a uniform to be as expressionless as mannequins until it is their turn to look confused. Every shot is an extreme close-up or an extreme oblique angle for no apparent reason. I get that the color, music, camera angles, etc. are used for effect. But when the effect is so obvious, it becomes a distraction. And this film does nothing else but distract the viewer. Unfortunately, nuance and subtlety are the two effects that were not used in this film. Even if none of that bothers you, having a paratrooper jump into enemy occupied territory without a weapon is just plain stupid. If you're making a war movie, you give the actors playing soldiers some guns.

I think this is a good movie The story is very good but it's a low budget movie, meaning poor images and scenery. The lighting is just awful. But acting is pretty good, so is the story and ideas, if you watch this film just for the plot, it will catch your attention.I would re-make this film with Spielberg directing it, making this a 2-hour movie. And of course, enough budget, according to Spielberg's movies. If you like war movies and don't have anything else to see, watch this, but you are warned: very low budget film.

I have read a lot about what these brave men did. Their story is awesome and should have been told with greater attention to the many things they did. It was a big disappointment. Why was the scene about the English girl and dinner included- everyone knows all D-Day participants were locked up for days before the invasion. Who wrote this???????????? It was impossible to tell who was who, why people were doing certain things - it was a very hard movie to follow even if you know a lot about the subject matter. The nicest thing I can say about it is that is that it conveyed to a degree that sense of lonesomeness soldiers who talked about their D-Day experience described with battles going on all around them.

Dreadful acting, dreadful sound, dreadful camera-work, dreadful script. Dreadful! One doesn't need 10 lines of text to go into how bad this film is.
