At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.

The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Ek villain had everything in it to be handsome. The erratic writing and average performances disgraces the soul of the movie. The art work and cinematography are the points to look for. They are the positives to make the movie watchable. The dialog that comes from the writing part seems to show too much of heroism which comes up as a negative. This movie shouldn't have been tried as a commercial movie. It sparks at some moments then gradually gets to be a letdown. This movie is a could-have-been-much-better movie.

I must admit that I couldn't figure it out when the film began, but half-way through, it struck me that I had watched a similar film a year or so earlier. Then I remembered it was a Korean film which has been burned in my memory: I Saw The Devil directed by Kim Ji-woon, written by Park Hoon-jung, and starring Choi Min-sik and Lee Byung-hun.The film's plot is almost the same as the Korean film, however the Korean film shows more graphic killing which the Indian Film Board would have censored and cut out immediately. If you have not seen the Korean film, I strongly suggest you see it.Mohit Suri is going to become one of India's most acclaimed directors, because his sense of direction is top-notch and his style is that of a professional Hollywood director. I prefer his films to that of Rohit Shetty, Anurag Kashyap or even Farhan Akhtar. This guy is light-years ahead of them. And what's impressive is that Suri is mastering his technique with each project given to him. Having enjoyed Suri's Woh Lamhe, Awarapan and Aashiqui 2, I was in eager anticipation of his next film. In terms of entertainment value, this film will not disappoint you. The photography is brilliant, the cast is excellent and the songs are well choreographed and melodious. Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shobha Kapoor put in good performances.I would no show this film to persons under the age of 18. This film is an adult thriller and should not be watched as a family with children present. Plot of the film: A man in a hood murders a young woman, Aisha Verma (Shraddha Kapoor) with a screwdriver and throws her out the window, after breaking into her house. At her funeral, a CBI officer, Aditya Rathore (Shaad Randhawa), points out to the police, that it is vital to track down the murderer or else Guru (Sidharth Malhotra), Aisha's husband, would go on a killing spree. It's up to Guru to find out who killed his wife before Aditya finds and arrests him.Watch the film to find out what happens next.Verdict: I'm a sucker for serial-killer flicks no matter how many times they are remade. I give it a score of 8/10. I would have give full 10/10 had it not been copied from another film.More films you may also like: Dushman 1998, Sangharsh 1999, Samay: When Time Strikes, Kaun? (1999), 100 Days (1991), Hatya (1988), Police Public (1990).

"good story with a really good cinematography and slightly good screenplay......but with such bad acting....unbelievably bad acting by all the actors......acting can't get worse than this.....and let alone the action scenes in the movie......could not get any more worse......this move should win the award of best representation of the worst action scene ever......even the Bengali movie's "bisu-maik" scenes are better than this...!!!.....but at last want to appreciate "ritesh" in trying to portray a "psychopath" kind of role.....dude.....have you ever seen a psychopath movie.....??.....find one and see one....even the worst psychopath is even more convincing than you....!!!....the music is good....!!!".....cheers...!!!
