Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

This is the first entry in the Troll series of movies, its not the best one, I think its kinda of annoying, I think that the filmmakers were trying to make some kind of horror-fantasy movie, but I think that it came out as a mess, maybe that's why it has a cult following, I liked the effects for the trolls in he movie, I think that they are very well done, this is a Charles Band production, before Full Moon, there was Wizard video, they did a very good work with what they had, but I cant stop to feel that there's something in the movie that doesn't quite hit it for me, maybe its is bizarreness, its both a positive aspect and a negative one, I would recommend it, its not very long and it has some decent aspects in the film, don't expect too much, expect cheesiness.

I can just imagine Charles Band screaming "That's what I like! Little things hitting each other!" This one involves a little girl going into the basement of her new apartment block and getting replaced by an evil troll who wants to replace our world with his world, which involves loads of rubbery muppet types. Only her brother seems to have an inkling of what's going on and is enlisted by an old woman (who is a witch of some kind) in getting rid of the little arsehole.Sounds good, right? I'm sorry to say it's only 'okay'. I got a kick out of the cheap creature effects and that good old eighties optical effects, but found it rather tame on the whole. It's always good to see Michael Moriarty in there but he doesn't get to do much (although his dancing is pretty funny). Sonny Bono's worth watching too.I came to this one after watching Troll 2 of course. Watch that one instead. It's insanely bad and therefore highly entertaining.

This movie is stinky pooh. It is badly written and as an awful ending. I don't think to many people like this movie. I can see why. It is a horror movie but it is not scary at all. A troll comes into an apartment by kidnapping a little girl and taking her place by shape shifting into her. He starts killing people. And conjuring up more of his kind. Now the older brother of little girl he kidnapped as to stop him. This could have been a good movie if it was not so badly acted and badly written. And if the ending had not been so awful. It was not a very scary horror movie was well. With better actors and writers it could have been. It was a good concept but it was not done well. Do not see this movie. It is a wast of time and money.

*Spoiler/plot- 1986, People move into a new apartment with a little girl. The girl gets mixed up in a supernatural plot where a troll wishes to take over into the real world. Only at the end, does the troll lose when the apartment neighbors band together and use mystical powers to put things right. *Special Stars- Sonny Bono, June Lockhart, Shelley Hack, Julia Louis-Dreyfus *Theme- Maybe the faeries and trolls can influence your life. *Based on- Occult and faerie myths*Trivia/location/goofs-This fantasy film takes place in modern San Francisco's apartment house. The film is notable for the many TV actor's early working and casting in the film's major roles. *Emotion- A somewhat forgettable film that was swamped in the rush to cash-in theater tickets during the 80's sci-fi films crush.
