Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

First off, I am a huge Blade fan. I own them all and watched the final two in the theaters. I actually had a blade stand up in my college apartment(my brother got it from the Blade 2 promotion because he managed a movie theater at the time.) That is how much I like the Blade series!! So, to see Westley Snipes in the Wild West looking oh so Blade like had me pumped. Well pretty much right off the bat you quickly realize that this is no Blade 4. WS still had the look but the movie jumped around excessively and it was one of the most difficult movies I have ever watched when it came to just understanding what was the main character's motivation and what was he fighting against exactly. I gave the movie a 4 because I actually watched it twice because I had so many unanswered questions. During the second viewing I was able to understand just a few of the movies details I had missed during the first watch because there are just things that happen in the story line that do not make sense no matter how many times you watch it.I will just say that the movie had awesome potential and actually had a somewhat original plot. The men WS faces have been described as zombies and they look like vampires except that they really do not have any special abilities or powers. If anything they have a major weakness...they need new skin every week or so. WS's movie mother makes a pact with a devil like being ( no explanation given) to raise him from the dead when he is killed avenging his lover's rapers. But when he kills people some of them come back to life so they hang people from the gallows and then take their skin to wear.I guess my point is that this could have been so much more. If a few changes were made and the movie's editing was not some of the all time worst who knows..it might have been enough to give Snipes' career a real shot in the arm.On a side note it was cool seeing Diamond Dallas Page in the film as the notorious "SkullBucket."

First of all, whoever watches a film because of W.Snipes acting skills must be bonkers! He is literally the worst thing of this, besides the script! This is a weird western gorefest with VERY nice practical effects with far and few lame cgi in it, with a colourful set of characters (the main villain has some hilariously goofy quips) the and a pacing that's too slow. Beautifully shot, nice composition, specially for a B-splatterfest, deserves a higher rating hence the 7, instead of a 5! Oh and terrible OST :D

Synopsis: In an arid wasteland created by too many lacklustre Hollywood mash-ups, critics think they've put the final stake in Wesley Snipe's career, but surprisingly it returns from the dead and feasts on spaghetti using Leone and Joderowsky's silver spoon.Verdict: Ambitious, imaginative and visually impressive film that warrants obvious comparison (Leone), but seems more indebted to El Topo's art direction and non-linear, Gothic, psychedelic spaghetti westerns like Matalo! and Django Kill, if You Live, Shoot! Personally, I enjoy this sort of thing, but I can see why many do not; it is brazenly uncommercial and unconventional (a brave choice at this point in Snipe's career decline), and that's part of its appeal.Several reviews have complained about the incoherent (or completely lacking) plot, but being a fan of spaghetti westerns, I've become accustomed to going along with the film's visuals - like following a good jazz number. I found the plot to be simplistic and classic western: man seeks revenge, flashbacks ensue, he gets revenge and - here's the twist - the people he kills come back from the grave ... so man seeks young apprentice to help him kill them once again. To some degree, I agree with the negative reviews. I did find it a frustrating and uneven watch. I couldn't help but think that a much better film was possible. Several scenes are cut in a manner that implies not enough footage was shot (made all the more infuriating by the fact that most of the film is extremely well photographed, making excellent use of the Namibian locations). There's also some reliance on rather cheap looking CGI - although the removal of heads and spinal columns was quite impressive. The voice-over narration - always problematic - sounds like a bad advert for men's cologne. The narration is made even worse by two narrators, possibly a necessity stemming from Snipe's three-year prison sentence in 2010 for failure to file income tax returns (Gallowwalkers was shot just before Snipes went to prison). The music, so important to any spaghetti western, is also disappointing, veering from more appropriate classical to some sort of alt-rock. Lastly, the climatic journey into the "spirit world" looks like it was shot in an underground parking lot. After that, an incongruous animated credit sequence rolls by, suggesting Gallowwalkers wants to position itself with the postmodern, ironic works of Rodriguez and Tarantino. Clearly, it should have remained true to its spaghetti western DNA.

I wanted to check this movie out because I thought the trailer looked cool, a unique storyline, maybe a little cheesy but still interesting. With a big name like Wesley Snipes, I thought it had a chance even with the low ratings. Boy was I wrong! The mostly nonsensical storyline was not well put together. It had many unexplainable plot holes like the undead coming back to life for an unknown reason killing to take peoples skins. The acting was simply horrid. The dialogue was unintelligent and with the terrible accents and out of sync speech, it made even the good lines stupid. All the effects were poorly done from fake looking graphics to corny makeup and lousy costuming. (Some good examples being the reptilian lizard skin man, or the dark skinned kid with white dreads) The action was just as bad as the rest of it with substandard fight scenes. The standoffs which are usually a highlight in westerns had little to no intensity whatsoever, which ruins the whole point and atmospheric mood.It quickly caused me to lose all interest, and the ending was extremely un-climactic.One plus was that they had some excellent desert scenery and backgrounds. If only something good could be said about the rest of this lame flick.
