Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

I figure this was suppose to be a grind house type film, based on the obvious similar soundtrack to Tarantino's 'Grindhouse', and various scenes throughout the film. Yes NNWBG was a low budget feature, but what a feature it was. A cheap, sleazy, smack to the senses. TONS of gratuitous nudity and violence throughout. NNWBG is a film about, a group of nuns who work for the church as packers and mules for a small drug cartel or in this case a Mexican motorcycle gang. Asun Ortega stars as our main protagonist, who for reasons unknown steals a brick of coke from the gang during a run with other nuns. This is quickly discovered and Ortega is shot on the spot, but survives, she is then used and abused and shot full of drugs on a daily basis. Ortega then believes she has been told by God she must be his avenger and kill all who sin, and believe me she kills em all without mercy. Head shot aplenty! This film is definitely not for the kids so keep them away...far away. There's also a few rapes in this film, with one suggesting that one of the victims was underage, being that she was raped in front of her mother and later the suggested teen is passed off (nude) to a lower level gang member, so if this sort of thing bothers you, steer clear of this film. I enjoyed this film for what is was and for what it clearly set out to be. I'm nowhere near shallow, I've seen and love many films, such as 'Terms of endearment, Oldboy (the original),and recently The Revenant'. But Nude Nuns With Big Guns I see as one of those guilty pleasure type movies and I can't wait for a sequel! Side note: Asun Ortega has one of the best butts you'll ever see......OK, now you can say I'm shallow lol.

If you like Italian western films, or Clint Eastwood's one, go straight to 1:09:50 - 1:15:00. It is brilliant! A romantic scene with a wonderful music in a trash movie. This scene reminds me of Sergio Leone's "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" with the music of the Ennio Morricone. It is like a video clip, most very good songs are from The Clinton Johnson Band (ex: Every Car Behind Me Is A Cop), an unknown band, and there is no other information from the others, that I would like to know. These guys have no money or resources, see how their website is at http://www.nudenunswithbigguns.com and the productions trailers. But they have plenty of talent, something lacking in many expensive films of Hollywood's.

I wanted to like this one a lot more. But there are some glaring problems that keep it from scoring any higher for me.First the only people I felt were doing anything with their characters were the leads. Which isn't completely bad, at least they cast people who could act some in the leads.Lighting and sound really have some horrifically bad moments in the film. Characters talking and you couldn't hear them. And the night scenes with a very nice Chevelle SS 396 where you could only see headlights.A lot of scenes where you could almost hear the director thinking "yeah, I guess that's okay, but you know what, I think we really need all the girls to be naked and rubbing their boobies over everyone on the set." Don't get me wrong, I like naked girls, but there is a point of diminishing returns when almost Every... Single... Scene... in the film is accessorized by boobies. There are some very good decisions made that were definite pluses to the film. The love story, while expected, did add to the story and was not completely gratuitous. David Castro's villain has most of the best lines, and several times comes dangerously close to being sympathetic. Asun Ortega does crazy very well, and the 'dress whites' as seen in the poster for the film really added to the moment. This is not a date movie, shoot it's not a mixed company movie in any manner. But for a guilty pleasure movie to watch when you are home alone, you could do worse.

There can only be two possible reasons for a film to bear the title Nude Nuns With Big Guns. One is that the person doing the naming suffers from some sort of severe mental illness - let us hope that this is not the case, for the film is not bad enough for me to wish that on someone. The other is that the makers are going for some sort of post-modern irony, a satirical commentary on audience taste, born out by a movie taking a gleeful delight in both revelling in and spoofing the elements summoned up in the title. Tarantino is good at this, so they tell me (I don't believe his publicity to the extent that he does, so my particular jury is still out on that one). The people behind Nude Nuns With Big Guns are not Tarantino. This film (which, let's be clear from the start, does indeed include both Nude Nuns and Big Guns) is professionally assembled. The camera is securely mounted on a tripod, scenes are well lit, shots are nicely composed, the film is in focus and the sound is clear. The acting is over the top, but it is supposed to be. There is lots of spurting blood. To that extent, all well and good. But the story and script let everything down. Where there should be a sly smirk underlying the events, there is clodhopping gracelessness and a complete absence of wit. Sadly, this film simply isn't very good.
