Zed is an American vault-cracker who travels to Paris to meet up with his old friend Eric. Eric and his gang have planned to raid the only bank in the city which is open on Bastille day. After offering his services, Zed soon finds himself trapped in a situation beyond his control when heroin abuse, poor planning and a call-girl named Zoe all conspire to turn the robbery into a very bloody siege.

After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

Why on earth anyone would rate this as a good movie I have no idea! It is totally a miss-mash of nonsense strung together by a poor script, over acting amateurs and lack of any kind of verisimilitude. French are great film makers, but when it comes to this genre it just doesn't work. Their language is just too flowery and sensitive to inspire any kind of terror or menace. Then it seems that the director of this farce had the brilliant idea of capitalising on this obvious fact by having all the bank robber parade around flicking their hair back and wearing ballerina masks! No doubt he was inspired to uses characters that resemble the cast of a Frankie Goes to Hollywood video. He must have also been inspired by the movie "Trainspotting", since this theme dominates the first half of the film after which the transformation occurs and they all turn into effeminate bank robbers lacking any real plan or direction. Their only motivation in this drivel seems to be to kill as many innocent people as possible. This has got to be one of the worst movies ever made!

On my view, I do admit I was a bit disappointed. Give it a few views, I was entertained intensely. First we have Paris, one of the most beautiful cities of the world, though we don't get to see much of it in this. Granted, this is no Pulp Fiction, some of it's dialogue with it's intellectual humor, leads us to question Quentin might of got his pen a little wet here. Like Reservoir Dogs, we have a heist gone wrong, amidst a little frank and shocking violence. (Eric) Jean Hughes Anglande has invited a childhood friend over, safe cracker Zed (Stoltz) he hasn't seen in some time. They're to do over a big bank on Bastille day, where the night before they get on the p**s and H, so obviously we're in the hand of some real experts. This too becomes a shock to Zed, who's only given a day's notice, not even having time to checked the bank out. In part, as seen to the amateur display of activities by our thieves, in these ugly masks, you could silently label this as an anti drug movie. Now here's the fun angle to the title. On the day of Zed's arrival, he's sent an escort, Zoe, (Julie Delpy) who just happens to work at the same bank, they do over, where Zed caught at a pivotal moment, towards it's end, is forced to make a choice, and I did too like the way it ended. Too, Eric's drunken admittance of aids, to Zed, made sense in the way he literally shoved Zoe out of his room, after the two's little interlude. Loved the cool opening plus it's title song, where were shown numerous streets of Paris, as if from a driver's POV. I loved the end song too, with Delpy saying "Let me show you the real Paris". Also Stoltz's whacked out POV, of visible music tunes, drifting out of friend, Anglande's trumpet. Not for all Tarantino fans.

No one would ever say that I don't like those dark and gritty movies with the comic violence and the witty sexy appeal. And this movie truly has it. I love Eric Stolz. He's hot. And Julia Delpy is smoking hot. I especially love the setting in France and the character Eric and his madness. The movie has a great feeling to it. It's maddening at times as the horrific events quickly begin to swirl out of control. This is one of my favorite films. I can watch it over and over again!!! If you haven't seen it then you need to right away! What are you waiting for? Personally I really love the music as well. It really compliments the film. And the shear brutality of the film is so wonderful. Seriously! If you have never watched this film and love these kinds of dark movies, you'll love Killing Zoe!

A rough and sometimes sordid movie is a short way to summarize this film. It's about a no-nonsense gang of drugged-out French thieves whose bank robbery attempt backfires into a bloody mess. For those who object, be warned there are a fair amount of subtitles in here and a lot of f-words. This was a tough gang, and the lead characters are pretty grubby, they aren't really very likable people.I like Jean-Hughes Anglade's accent and I always like ogling Julie Delpy, although I've seen her look better. The city of Paris looked good with some nice shots in the beginning and at the end of the movie.Anglade, as the leader of the gang, was brutal but fascinating. My only complaint was the film was too sordid in spots (drugs, language and attitude). but overall, an entertaining crime film. It gets your attention and keeps it.
