Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999)

Tied for the best movie I have ever seen

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

The first Candyman movie was a classy slice of pure horror based on an original story by celebrated author of the macabre Clive Barker; Day of the Dead, the third film in the series, is pure trash from the writer of Leprechaun 2 and Sleepstalker—but that's not to say I didn't enjoy it…Curvaceous, platinum blonde Baywatch babe Donna D'Errico is the star, and she spends the entire film in outfits specifically chosen to best show off her physical attributes (opening with a scene in which she is wearing only panties and a tight vest). D'Errico's amazing bod isn't the only good thing about the film, though: several other women also get their clothes off, including the tasty daughter of a confederate colonel who gets it on with Tony Todd, and a slutty model who covers her boobs in honey and gets stung to death by bees. In addition to the gratuitous female nudity, there's also a fair amount of gore, a gang of hilariously naff punk Candyman cultists, D'Errico in a ball gag tied to a chair, and Tony Todd hamming it up for all he's worth. It might not be art, but it sure ain't boring.

This movie is one of these movies that you ask yourself ''why did they make this thing??''. the movie is really useless, and it added nothing new, plus there are really a lot of confusing and wrong things in the movie, if you watched the first two movies you'll understand, for example here the candyman was killed in a forest or something while in the 2nd movie we saw him die in a field....etc, what was really awful that they took everything that made the first two movies two of the best slasher/ horror movies ever made like the score and the dark feeling of the movie and turned it into a boob and gore feast,plus after a while you feel really bored that you wish the movie ends ASP,,,,

'Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers', 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 2', 'Childs Play 3', and 'Candyman 3' all have something in common.If you're thinking that they're all sequels, you are right, but there's something else.All of these movies are examples of underrated sequels.I liked all of these movies and I don't care what other people have to say about them.I thought that 'Candyman 3: Day of the Dead' was a pretty decent horror movie with another groundbreaking performance by Tony Todd.Nobody will ever play a better Candyman than him.That's a fact that we horror fans should know.I haven't seen the 2nd movie yet, but I do have to say that the first and the third were pretty good.Maybe the third wasn't as good as the first, but I still found it to be a good movie.After you're finished reading my review, I want you to go to a mirror and say Candyman 5 times.If he shows up and tries to kill you, then it serves you right for thinking that this movie was totally pointless.If the Candyman franchise wants to be really popular, then there needs to be a 4th installment.Let's hope that Tony Todd is willing to play Candyman again.

while i actually liked the first two Candyman movies,i didn't' like this third and(so far Final)installment.i found it boring and repetitive and i didn't like the story very much.there's a lot of filler here,which suggests to me that the filmmakers didn't have enough of a story for a complete movie.i also wasn't too impressed with the acting.there was a lot of overwrought theatrics.as well,there were some things in this movie that did not fit with the previous movies,basically throwing out certain aspects of the lore.maybe i'm just imagining things,but this is my opinion on things.finally,this movie has none of the style of the second movie.adding it all up,this third installment in the series is much lower in quality on all counts.my vote for Candyman 3:Day of the dead is a 3/10
