I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Purely Joyful Movie!
I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
I love the cast! That's why while I was bored, my eye was caught by it. I got myself situated and watched it. Last night, I watched "Victoria" which was supposed to be super scary. I wasn't all that frightened by it. But, because I watched "Victoria", Netflix recommend this movie. After watching this one alone in my living room surrounded by darkness, I had to turn on the lights!! Creeped me out!! The premise of non-believers struck a cord. The story was both enticing and suspenseful. The ending....just....wow! Not expected!I usually get bored with scary movies but, this one had me glued! Highly recommend it if you enjoy mystery suspension!
I really liked this movie. Being as I stumbled upon it on Neflix and never heard of it at all, there was no level of expectation. I took it for what it was and this is my kind of movie.
Pros- -casting is good -powerful performance by johnathan rhys Meyers, didn't know he was that capable. - as usual good performance by Julianne mooreCons - disappointing story ...initial buildup of story line is like a psychological thriller a good one that will keep you curious and backed by such a cast , viewers wait for more of that thrill but instead story line deviates to a predictable plot. It feels injustice with good performances by actors.U can watch this movie as how good performances can be wasted.
Frighteningly enough, I understand what the script writer was trying to accomplish when he was crafting "6 Souls," I really do. Unfortunately, while it is an enjoyable thriller/horror film, you need a minor in sociology and history to understand some of the elements of the film and where the mythology of the backdrop becomes difficult to understand. The storyline becomes a bit convoluted without an understanding of several non-traditional practices such as Hex magic, Appalachian conjuration (and it's dark twin, non-Wiccan witchcraft, so please, don't shoot the messenger on this one) and soul riding. That being said, either the screen writer knows too much about these subjects or too little, resulting in a confusing mish-mash for those who haven't any idea about the landscape that forms the background for this tale. However, if the viewer can move beyond the limitations of the film (in short, too many elements that would have individually made an excellent thriller), the movie is enjoyable and a good way to spend an afternoon if the viewer is in the mood for a thriller. Just realize that as a viewer, you will, in all likelihood, have to suspend disbelief until the credits roll. That being said, Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are excellent in their characterizations even if there are some aspects of the film that completely derail from anything that is familiar within circles of the occult (try a search engine if you don't believe me). The cast is excellent, even if the script is about as realistic as finding a zombie using your toothbrush one morning in your bathroom.Ironically, were the screen writer to focus on a prequel to the film, many of these elements would be answered and as a sequel, "6 Souls" would be a fascinating sequel.
