Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

I did not think THIS would be so good. It's coming from a guy that didn't like Red Hood, which people consider the best of DC animated films. I never found it interesting at all. But this got me!! The very first scene with Billy wearing Superman shirt and feeding the rats. Moments like these are completely lost in ANY films today. The writing is seriously amazing!! And kudos to the voiceover too. Billy had an amazing voice. And it was funny as hell. When he was in the middle of the sky celebrating his sky and accidentally says Shazam and falls into the sea. Wonderful!!And then there was other dialogue by Black Adam questioning what god like powers truly means and symbolism with us and ants. IT's simple but it GOT ME.I hope David F Sandberg, the director of Shazam 2019 has seen this movie and it would be the best thing if he takes ideas and how the character of Billy should be and puts it into his movie!! More power to DC!!

Superman finds a foe who may be too powerful even for him to defeat in the murderous Black Adam. Fortunately, Black Adam's real target is the Earth's Mightiest Mortal--Captain Marvel who is actually a little kid with the super power to grow up and become the hero Captain Marvel that kid is called Billy Batson. This 25 minutes short has almost the same amount of damage that Man of Steel had after Black Adam (Arnold Voslo) arrives in earth to find Billy things go messed up and Superman gets caught in the middle and he gets his ass whipped a lot of times during this short film. Also the cast is pretty nice the voices are very well done and the action is handled very well done also but the film also has important messages about Bullying so that's a good thing always.

This is a 5-year-old animated short film which runs for under 30 minutes and features some of the finest superheroes out there. It is Superman's task to protect a teenage boy who is about to become Captain Marvel one day. Black Adam comes to Earth in order to kill the kid before he can transform, so there will be one powerful guy less fighting the evil forces in the future. Of course, he does not succeed as Superman protects him long enough. After a somewhat unique subway ride, the kid gets his superpowers and from that moment on, the two are just way too much for Black Adam, who means business as he kills an unsuspecting couple already in the first minute of the film. And if that is not already enough, even a magical tiger appears at the end. I have to say, I really liked the villain character here. He looked a lot like an evil dark version of Superman and if I wasn't mistaken I heard an Eastern European accent when he was talking. Maybe we can see him in a Superman movie in the near future. This short film's director has a pretty impressive body of work and animation (especially superhero animation) lovers will certainly have come across some of his works, most recently "The Legend of Korra". The cast is unusually known for a film like this. I am sure you will have heard of James Garner, Malcolm McDowell and Alyssa Milano. I personally enjoyed these 25 minutes more in the first half, before the boy transformed, but even afterward it is still pretty decent to watch. Recommended.

This an excellent animated short. Almost perfect, in my opinion. Not only the animation was incredibly good (With a high level of detail and very good designs) but the plot was very funny and enjoyable, going directly to the point, without adding any kind of distraction or filler material. And yet, it somehow doesn't feel rushed or incomplete in any way: In fact, I think that the final result was something more satisfying than most of the other animated films based on DC Comics from the recent years, While "Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam" capture the essence of some classic comic book stories, it is done in such a dynamic and interesting way that it can be easily enjoyed by modern viewers. This was pure fun, from beginning to end.
