Two decades after surviving a massacre on October 31, 1978, former baby sitter Laurie Strode finds herself hunted by persistent knife-wielder Michael Myers. Laurie now lives in Northern California under an assumed name, where she works as the headmistress of a private school. But it's not far enough to escape Myers, who soon discovers her whereabouts. As Halloween descends upon Laurie's peaceful community, a feeling of dread weighs upon her -- with good reason.

a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

Since I've been torture with part 6, H20 is so fun like it's a fun fast pace movie. Good story, good acting, good pacing, and fun! They could of end it here but nope they decide to make another one and I have to say that one suck too. In my opinion this is the only good Halloween film of the 90s. This is a good sequel, go see it now!

Halloween 6 may have been bad and old and soggy and smelt like shit, but that did not mean it was not praised for being "unique" and oh yeah, getting like, a butt load of money at the box office. Well, anyway, of course, it was not long before we got Halloween H20: 20 Years Later. Fans did not know what to expect after Halloween 6 with Donald Plesence dying during Halloween 6..then some big news was announced that Jamie Lee Curtis would return after four dragged on sequels. The film basically ignores 4-6 weirdly and follows Laurie Strode who has now become a teacher at a school and still suffers from nightmares of her encounter with Mr. Myers and soon certain events being to make her believe, hes back for her. I actually don't really have any problems with H20, the film is a superb sequel to Halloween, the film is actually better then Halloween 2 and has a awesome story after I did feel like Halloween 4-6's story of Laurie being the mom of Jamie and all that was a bit forced and felt a bit insane considering she was only like 25 if she did have her. Halloween H20 is a great sequel to an amazing horror film, I'm pretty sure you've seen

I personally found this to be the best "Halloween" movie after the original. The tension is built up very well in this film. This made the right decision of ignoring all the other Halloween movies except for the first two. Sadly, Donald Pleasance died before he could work on this movie and honestly, it probably worked better without the Dr. Loomis character. I guess it's now said that Loomis died in the fire at the end of "Halloween II". This movie probably deserves credit for not being too violent and it doesn't just rely on gore. I will admit that it does drag on in the middle.Still, these scenes can work because they show the more realistic aspects of the franchise. You get a fight at the climax that built up well and it isn't drawn out too much. Of course, with a film that's only 85 minutes long, it doesn't have that much plot. Some of the jump scares do get repetitive, but what matters is that we have a great actress like Jamie Lee Curtis in this film. A pity Joseph Gordon-Levitt had to die so early in this movie. He's a great actor! ***

On Halloween night in 1978, Laurie Strode managed to escape a killing spree by Michael Myers. 20 years later, Laurie is still traumatized by the events. As a result, she faked her death and changed her name to Kerri Tate to run a private school. Growing tired of her mom's obsession with Michael, Laurie's son John plans a special get together with his girlfriend Molly and his friends. Michael Myers returns to try to kill what he wanted to do 20 years earlier, kill Laurie Strode. I wanna get this straight before I get into my lengthy criticism. I don't dislike this sequel. As a matter of fact, it's rather entertaining when I ignore all the faults it has. After Halloween 6 destroyed the series with the god-awful thorn storyline, the series was in need of new direction. It starts off well enough. It opens with Mr. Sandman and the opening is suspenseful. Many people wanted Jamie Lee Curtis to make her return to the series, myself included. My main problem with this movie is that it's not mean enough. It tries so hard to be hip and in tune with the horror movies that were coming out. What this series needed was an old-school approach that was genuine. Everything about this movie just felt disingenuous, aside from the beginning and a few homages to the original. Another problem I have is the lack of genuine suspense and tension. The finale is OK, but it's not exactly scary or tense. Don't expect much gore either. (Though, gore isn't really Halloween's forte) We get a skate in the face, a slit throat, stabbings, someone's leg is crushed, but not much else.Jamie Lee Curtis is excellent in her return to the series. Despite the below average script she has to work with, she makes the most of it. She's a shell of her former self, living in fear all the time. The events in 1978 have traumatized her for the rest of her life. I felt Laurie conveyed all these emotions perfectly. She deserved better. Josh Hartnett is really good as John. He's very likable and played someone you can easily root for. I felt for him at times. It's a shame that Halloween Resurrection chose to ignore the character of John. I wanted to see how he was handling life and what came of him. Michelle Williams is rock solid as John's love interest. She's an underrated actress and I enjoyed her performance. LL Cool J provides the comic relief. We could have done worse with someone in his role. (*cough, Busta Rhymes, *cough) Adam Arkin is a tad whiny as Laurie's love interest. I didn't really care for his character. Michael Myers himself is kind of weak in this one. The mask wasn't very intimidating. It's not really Chris Durand's fault, he just didn't really feel like The Shape to me. Janet Leigh has a small role here, but it's very cool. I loved the homage to Psycho. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in the opening briefly as a punk teenager. This could have been an epic sequel, but it was not to be. Despite all my problems with it, I still watch it at least once a year. I'm a huge fan of the Halloween series, and I still find it to be enjoyable. Just make sure your expectations are in check. 5.5/10
