This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

When I first watch I thought I'm going to like it but the killer in this film is not smart like he wear a baseball cap instead of a mask for getting revenge on the protagonist like he's just dumb. This film is not even a reboot I heard like if your going to make a movie then don't call it the same name from the popular film. Like you can't call a alien film Alien because that tittle was taken. If I was a creator of this film I'll fix the script, get new crew of actors, and make the people in the film SMART!!

I try not to put spoilers in, but always check the box in case I slip up. The original Prom Night was a classic--early dead teenager movie that helped set the standard. And sure, this is not so much a remake as a re-imagining, so there can be some leeway. But 45 minutes in, you will find yourself strongly disliking Brittany Snow. By the hour point, Gandhi would be hitting her in the head with buckets of salt. You really, really start to root for the killer. And not just because of how irritating she is. Inept police, friends with no clue, boyfriend who feels so strongly about protecting his girlfriend that he decides to do so by sleeping. It is not the worst movie ever made. The music is good, and the cast is pretty. But if you are looking for a quality horror flick, you might as well rent one of the Herbie The Love Bug movies. Really.

This watered-down, PG-13 "horror" film is so tame it could almost be shown in Sunday school, especially given how chaste the main couple is. I referred to it as a "slasher" film in my Summary, but that's misleading as no actual violence occurs on screen. Nor any sex or nudity, the other staples of the genre. What we mostly get is a lot of dumb, clichéd teen dialogue about how much fun prom night is (unless a serial killer shows up, I guess). In recent years, Hollywood has started releasing R-Rated horror films again after a brief spate of PG-13 drivel that wouldn't scare a five-year-old. Producers thought the PG-13 rating would bring in more money, but the fact that junk like Prom Night didn't bring in the big bucks as expected apparently led them to change course.

A teen is chased by a serial killer during a school prom night.This film is lacking in many different ways but the main thing is the bad plot. The entire plot can be explained in one sentence and here it is: Donna goes to prom where her friends get killed. There is no originality to the story and the entire thing can be guessed in the first 5 minutes. The acting was horrible and this was probably the scariest part of this movie besides the budget. I was rooting for the killer just to not hear them talk anymore. Some of these actors played better corpses than their roles!!! How does a killer go through a whole movie without getting a drop of blood on himself after killing multiple people with a knife? Prom Night. What is the worst way to spend $20,000,000? You make a movie called Prom Night.I normally try not to review bad films but I have to make this exception. The only horror of this film was that it was made and that it cost $20,000,000. Everything from the direction to the acting was horrid. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
