Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

Without giving any spoilers, I must say I do not recommend this movie. After viewing it, I was left with a feeling of confusion and I've read the the screenplay was written add-hoc which would explain why the movie feels random, in a bad way. I think there are other more interesting films out there which share a relatable love story without constantly giving the impression that the main characters do not actually try to find a way to be together and even though they are offered options they seem to hesitate until it's too late for their romance to actually continue. All in all, I give 4/10 for the main female character which was courageous and interesting in her own way.

This movie reminded me of "Two Lovers" played by Phoenix and Paltrow. They both rivetingly depicted young love with unforeseeable obstacles. It's hard to make memorable romantic movies nowadays. The most reason is taboos such as cast, race, wealth or even sexuality no longer carry stern impacts in our society. Without heart-wrenching hindrances, you cannot elevate the carnal desire to immaculate spirituality.Since there are little factors could stop young couple seeing each other now. The director used the bureaucracy as an impediment between Anna and Jacob I think is ingenious. The bureaucracy grounded their love and also made them realize how much they yearned for each other. It slowly revealed the struggles between their affections and realities. Even they were barely buried underneath both seemingly uneventful everyday lives. Once the solution presented to them, they made a run for it. No matter what the future will be held. At least, they did not forgo the belief of their love.

I have read a number of reviews on this film and I can definitely identify with the ones that mention both leads (Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin) are brilliant separately, but something goes missing when they are together.I really enjoyed the subject matter of the film. This is a young couple in love who are trying to deal with the sorts of problems that everyday couples have. Their issues are not glamourised and that is echoed by the minimalism in the script. I enjoyed the celebration of the mundane, which really allowed me to connect with the story. The issue I have with the film, though, is that I didn't really buy these two as a couple. The chemistry really wasn't there for me. As I said before, Jones and Yelchin put in solid performances with a nice cameo from Jennifer Lawrence, but I didn't feel the connection between the two. I didn't believe that these two were desperate to be with each other and that they were going through the torment of that not being able to happen. The film had enough emotion to pull on the heartstrings. I just think with these two characters, I felt a certain amount of detachment which translated into not feeling as emotionally connected to the characters as the film probably intended.

"Like Crazy" is an American romantic drama film directed by Drake Doremus. This touching movie shows us the difficulties of a distance relationship in real life. The film tells us a story of Anna, a British exchange-student, who is an editor that falls in love with an American student, Jacob, who is a furniture designer. This young couple has different kind of love. Their love is more passionate and stronger compare to others. Despite all the difficulties that they are having during their romance, they are still fighting for their happy ending. From the beginning, Anna is more interested in Jacob than he is in her. These two lovers meet in college in Los Angeles. We can see that she is really interested in him by the way she looks at him, and the way she acts when she is with Jacob. Soon, they start dating and she falls into him that much, that she can't even think of an idea of them being separate. However, life will split them, and they will have to struggle for their relationship. The two main actors are Anton Yelchin, who is Jacob and Felicity Jones, who is Anna. Both of them are acting professionally. While you are watching Anna in the movie, you can feel everything, like it is happening to you. The perfection of her act overtake all the expectations. Moreover, Anton is the actor who made the movie even more saturated. I think no one could play this role better than him. Also, we can't forget about Jennifer Lawrence (Samantha), Charlie Bewley (Simon), Oliver Muirhead (Bernard Gardner) and Alex Kingston (Jackie Gardner), as even though they are playing supporting roles, they enriched this film even more.Soundtracks were perfectly chosen for this movie. Each of them made every moment more special, more affecting. Especially, I am admired by the song "Dead Hearts" of group Stars, that plays in the end of the movie, that give us an indescribable feeling by the end of the film.During the movie the mood of them is depending on each other, and that's what makes an audience be more interested in the story. Also, the way they do things for each other is really heartwarming. For instance, on their first anniversary, she made a notebook with all the pictures of the moments that meant a lot to them. In return, his first furniture design work was special for Anna. That was a chair that he replaced with an old one that was uncomfortable for her. On that creation of him he wrote "Like Crazy", what meant that his love for her was infinite. The most significant thing is that this movie isn't like any other drama. There are no tragedian events. However, you can see how realistic it is.This story teaches young generation about how bad the consequences can be if you let the love make you blind. You always have to be focused on the north of your life. Another important thing that the movie teaches us about is to be patient, and never give up on the things that you really want, because no matter how hard the life can be, in the end you will always achieve your goals, if you keep trying hard on it. This movie is targeted on the people from 14 to 35 years old and its cataloged in MP-13 because it contains material like sensuality, language, adults activities and other elements that may not be suitable for children under the age of 13. Teenagers and young adults are the perfect audience for this movie, because a lot of them, especially who study abroad go through distance relationship, and have similar problems. I would like to recommend this movie to the people who like realistic love story drama. In addition, I would like to mention that this movie is one of the best movies I've ever seen in my entire life, since it passes to us the deep real understanding of relationship between two people who aren't able to see each other for a long-term.After watching the movie I consider that this release deserves 4.5 stars out of 5. As this story illustrates in a beautiful way how complicated, but simple relationship are when you are keeping distance with the person that you love.To conclude, I would like to make a brief introduction of Saida Khusainova, the person who has written the review about the movie "Like Crazy". She is an eighteen years old freshman, who studies major of international business in Guangdong Universities of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou city of China. She loves spending time in parks doing picnics with her friends and watching horror movies. Saida is a really open-minded person, who usually spends time with her friends of different nationalities as she likes to explore new cultures. In the future, after graduating the university, Saida is planning to travel around the world and try different cuisines, moreover she would like to increase her level in languages by speaking with people from different countries.
